This book was selected by Palladium Bookies because Elizabeth Kraft Taylor is a patron of the Center of Performing Arts. I as a serious reader was skeptical about reading this book believing this to be indulging a donor at my expense. I am happy to report I was wrong. I was pleasantly surprised at her wit, charm, truthfulness, and candor about telling her story. She truly was a pioneer in the field of retail and real estate development for women in the eighties. Her road may not have been easy. This book was selected by Palladium Bookies because Elizabeth Kraft Taylor is a patron of the Center of Performing Arts. I was pleasantly surprised at her wit, charm, truthfulness, and candor about telling her story. She truly was a pioneer in the field of retail and real estate development for women in the eighties. Her road may not have been easy. But, it was fulfilling and lined with fun moments. It was a quick and light read. She highlighted what was most important to her and for Elizabeth Kraft Taylor her relationships were the most important to her and the respect she had for the Simons and her fellow colleagues. She did not consider Melvin Simon & Associates, Inc. a business. She looked upon it as family and acted accordingly. It is a gift God gives only to a few. Quote: Retailers took themselves seriously in those days and followed the rule book for merchandise display to the letter. "I don't know, Melvin. What's wrong?" "Here's what's wrong," he shouted, pushing a New York tabloid in front of my face. TRUMP DIVORCE was the enormous black headline. "Melvin," I said, "there are some things in this world that go wrong without any help from me."

I enjoyed the stories of the hey day of Simon shopping centers. The mall culture has shifted, but the Simon culture remains intact! An enjoyable quick read for anyone from Indianapolis or affiliated with Simon Property Group!
