•Good writing=I enjoyed the flow and style. •Lack of character development and relationship development. •Quick story. (A little too quick for my taste). •I liked the alien idea. It was interesting to me. :) 2.5 stars rounded up.

This was a quick easy read. I was in the mood for a sexy sci fi romance and a friend recommended this which had the added bonus of being free. I didn't really expect too much as obviously with a shorter story there isn't always a lot of time for world building but I was pleasantly surprised. We get a very sympathetic heroine who was pragmatic and ready to do what she could. Then we meet the male who she is matched with and he's an absolute sweetie. Obviously in order to make the story interesting there has to be conflict of some sort and that comes in the shape of Paax's twin brother. Yet I couldn't help but feel a certain sadness which could perhaps had been addressed but unfortunately there wasn't really enough time. So in conclusion not a terrible book and it could well become an interesting series Three and a half

Not available via Kindle Unlimited. Hero is kind of a jerk in the 'absent-minded professor' way. First thing he says to the heroine? "You're late" She didn't stand up for herself much. Bit of a doormat. Hero redeems in the end, but don't expect romance or smexy times. This book didn't do anything for me. Not recomended. Not available via Kindle Unlimited. Forcing his hand The perfect quick read! The author did a fantastic job in just a few short pages. I enjoyed the characters, they connected quickly and the emotions really amped up the story as the excitement grew. The author kept me on the edge of my seat as the story took a turn to action and danger. I would have loved if the story was longer, but it was so well written and developed that I don’t feel I missed anything in the telling. I look forward to reading the next book by this author.

I like Star Huntress... But it's obvious that this collab had a different taste. Unlike Ariana and Alien Valentine. Thanks to a treaty between aliens and earth there's a program of mail order brides. You know the drill... Any who! Girls get checked to get matched every year. Mercy didn't expect to get chosen nor did Paax expect a bride after his retirement. But she's sent to him anyway... The heroine is very relatable and easy to like. There's an instant connection not exactly love... Attraction? Yes! The hero is so much more than he seems. A perfect gentleman. He talks and actually takes the time to explain things to his mate despite his circumstance. He's considerate, sexy and Nerd Alpha goods. Yes of course as in all short erotic destined mates books, things escalate quickly. It's the classic warrior alien in need of women... But guys... I bought it! I definitely think that if Nancey got a chance to write a lengthier book I'd enjoy it even more. You'd appreciate certain details that are lost and would flow much easier. The romance was sweet! Sex was hot! The story had me hooked and it didn't turn to be just another quick ride. Loved the Mahdler... Although they all share basic similar traits like the horns and mating urges... They come in all colors and sizes due to the mixing with other aliens. No Mahdler females... So I would say enjoy and have fun! A definite rec to all!

The books I have read so far have been excellent so, even though I didn't care too much for this particular book, I do recommend checking out others. This one was completely monotonous with zero character development and lackluster world-building in an otherwise creative series. Our perfectly boring h arrives on Sangrin and is dropped off at her Mate's doorstep. The H is a scientist responsible for the DNA matching program (also a perfectly boring character with zero personality). His genetically altered a-hole brother wants the h for his own and after knowing his mousy bride for a day realizes he needs to stop being a total coward and challenge his brother....I honestly couldn't tell you what happens next because I don't care and could only stomach about 75% of the book, which actually feels like a major accomplishment to me. There were so many continuity errors and the characters were so dull I'm actually pretty upset and shocked at the quick change in the quality of content by comparison.

2.5 stars, for characters that lacked character. It was odd, the setting was great, off world, evil OM with some angst for the H because the evil one was his twin. The h had a sick mother, but there was a distinct lack of emotion in the writing, it was just all 'told' and not emotion was shown. Not engaging. 2.5 stars, for characters that lacked character. I enjoyed this. It was a quick, short romance and was very entertaining. The only thing that really annoyed me was the very obvious lack of character and relationship development. However, it was very steamy and I loved the smut. Stars ~ 3

Paax is not entirely without promise but needs substantial editing. If she does nothing else in her writing career, the author must learn how to use the past perfect. Every time she wrote in the simple past when it should have been the past perfect, I cringed. Unfortunately, this was on just about every page. Beyond that, Paax needs to be proofread for typos - the occasional random word or misused homonym, mainly. It's slightly stilted in places. It could also do with being much longer. The heroine's mother's story sounds fascinating. The small bits of characterisation of the heroine were promising, too; it's a shame she shed her personality on meeting the hero. I'm not convinced that he had one in the first place. I would have liked to spend more time looking at the culture of this alien world. The marriage ceremony was kind of charming. More of that please. The story could be interesting if it was more than just a vehicle for sex scenes.

Boring and predictable. I couldn't even finish this. Paax and Mercys story didn't impress me at all. Neither mercy or Pax is given any personality before there smashed together and have to do the deed. There are a building to a story but I always find it hard to really get involved when there's a lack of passion, and building of romance. The first sex scenes feels more or less like a take away meal. Fast, gets your appetite down but not really satisfying. As for the communication between the two. Boring and predictable. If not I would seriously recommend a more grown up approach. And what's the deal with Mercy being so meek and just accepting leaving her dying mother and jump on an Alien stick? No... just no. There really wasn’t anything special to this one. It was okay is the perfect description. Your typical mates story...but without the juice! There was no chance to get invested, the steamy scenes were tepid at best, the conflict felt like it was manufactured without any real care put into it, and I didn’t care for the heroine or the Hero. They were both meh. Honestly, it was mostly boring. Felt like we were just going through the motions. He knows his twin brother, his Warlord is behind this only to manipulate him and tear his world apart. Mercy thought with her mother's health condition and only her to care for her she would never have to go through with the mating program. Then the day arrives when she learns she must leave now to marry a strange alien immediately and the she could die in childbirth. If she lives long enough to even become pregnant for Paax's bother has her attacked and leaves a poison in her system knowing her husband will have no choice but to give into his brothers demands or let her die. Little does Omas know he has created a man willing to die and kill for his mate. Unlike many of the warrior grooms written of today, Paax is sweet, kind and gentle already it is not a trait he must learn from his bride. They are so sweet together, you are angry for them over Omas' betrayal of his brother's love for him and the way he manipulates them. From start to finish this book will capture your heart. A pleasant way to spend and hour or so. I'm hoping the others in the series are a bit longer for the price tag. 💖

We are given some background on Mercy and a little on Paax but a more detailed relationship between Paax and the Warlord and their history would have made for a much better read. The story is well written but I just wish there was more of it. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

Pretty good story, liked the main characters. The nurse in the beginning is a jerk. I get why she's a jerk, a lot of the women in the draft are sent to a warzone, Those that have families outside of spouses have to leave them. I imagine she's seen some bad freak-outs. Her attempt to comfort the heroine falls short, apparently there's been only 2 divorces. It's supposed to be impressive but how many people in real life stay married out of fear, for money, or because they have no here else to go. N Pretty good story, liked the main characters. Heroine got lucky when she was drafted. The guy she's forced to marry is a smart, intelligent guy. Despite having only 12 hrs to sleep with her(his brother/lord would have hurt her if he didn't)he took the time to help her acclimate. In most stories the guy seems to basically jump the person they want. The bad guy is the hero's twin brother who a tad unstable. I get the woman forced to marry him is dead, but threatening to rape your sister-in-law is not a great way to learn to live with the pain.

I liked Paax and Mercy overall, but their relationship felt a little too forced and confined to the shortness of the actual novels. But it is an interesting world and since I bought the box set of 4 audiobooks, I will be listening on. Logan McAllister narrated this series and he did well overall. Good variance of tone and pacing to reflect the characters of the book. I enjoyed the narration.

I feel they should have made the heroin more resilient to the idea of paax being her mate, because she was not into it at first; but then shes like yeah can’t imagine myself without him less than a day into seeing him. It just made her seem stupid. This story is definitely forgettable. Im listening to the 1st volume pack of audiobooks so i have 3 more books left, i hope the others a better:) (Edited: the 2nd book is definitely better!!!)

Paax gets matched and challenged.... This was good story, it got better toward the end. I give this 4 cups of hot java, ☕☕☕☕. Well written, the draw into the story was slow and becoming harder to pull away from as Pass gets unexpected match to an earthling. Matched to an alien, Mercy finds herself on another planet. Paax never expected to get a mate, but once she arrives, he’s determined to hold onto her. The book doesn’t quite match up with the blurb here. It sounded like Mercy would be resisting the marriage contract, but she actually more or less throws herself at Paax and goes along with it right from the beginning. And Paax really doesn’t read like the masculine tough warrior described in the blurb either. Anyway, the book was a fairly good read Matched to an alien, Mercy finds herself on another planet. There are some missing words and head hopping. Overall, it was a fairly good read, just not quite as engaging as I expected.
