Cameron never fails to bring a smile to my face while creating a uniquely captivating romance. This tale is no exception. It was romance at its most basic level wound up in a comical tale that kept me on the edge of my seat. The plot was light but enriching, providing the best of all worlds to romance lovers. At the same time, Cameron brings the Victorian Era to life in a manner that allows readers to experience it without getting bogged down in technicalities. At the same time, Cameron brings the Victorian Era to life in a manner that allows readers to experience it without getting bogged down in technicalities. The main characters in this novel were priceless. When you take a privateer cum Duke and turn him loose with a not-quite-proper lady and antics will follow. Cameron takes it even further, giving readers realistic and loveable individuals to journey with. Surrounding them with a secondary cast that are just as loveable and quite well developed, and Cameron has a winner with these individuals. To top it off, I absolutely love the curse words that he characters use. They were perfect. They never failed to make me giggle while also highlighting the ways that the times have changed. As a whole this was a pricelessly romantic and wildly comical novella that held my attention from cover to cover. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone and I also can’t wait to see what Rogue she comes up with next. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Awesome novella! Couldn't put this book down. In this 4th novella our hero and heroine do not meet or see each other at the whippletons Ball, though it is mentioned to be coming up and a ball is not to be missed. Being of noble character Miss Needham agrees to help him navigate the ton and find him a wife. It was a wonderful sweet but intriguing story. You're left a little in the dark as to miss Needhams fiancé and is there intrigue involved. This adds to the suspense and in the end love reigns. Definitely recommend this novella especially with the summer around the corner. It's short, wonderful, and definitely hot! Just loved it! Just need to clarify that I did receive an ARC for an honest review, also I loved this book so much that this reader has preorder the book and I will be buying it.

This is the story of Katrina Needham, the feisty, confident daughter of a wealthy banker, and Dominic St. Monte, nephew of a family friend, a successful privateer, and the new Duke of Pendergast. In addition to his duties to the Dukedom, Nic is now responsible for his Aunt Bertie (who raised him) whom he adores, and his sisters whom he does not know. The Needhams invite the lot of them to come for an extended visit, and while they are in residence, Katrina will help him with his sisters and learning how to behave like a proper duke. These two would be perfect together, but she believes she is about to become betrothed (although Richard, her almost intended, has not been heard from lately) and he wants a biddable wife who won’t mind if he returns to sea once the family is settled. That’s the plan, but everybody knows about the best-laid plans… How does this all work out? Where is Richard? Will Nic find a suitable wife? Is there any possibility that Nic and Katrina can be together? Why is Aunt Bertie grinning about? Lots of questions - answers to be found in To Tame a Scoundrel’s Heart. Katrina and Nic have a wonderful chemistry. Their banter is witty and charming. Both are intelligent, caring people. Nic may be a rough and tough man of the sea, but he has a big heart. He wants to make a make a happy family and good life for his shy, scared sisters and sweet Aunt Bertie. The secondary characters are great. The Needhams are understanding and willing to help Nic and his new family. The story is interesting and heartwarming. There is a twist or two and a bit of a surprise. Another winner for Collette Cameron. I enjoyed and recommend it. Stevie Zimmerman is a talented narrator. The voices for this story were quite well done, from Nic’s deep baritone to Aunt Bertie’s excited chatter to the soft voices of two shy little girls.

Katrina Needham is betrothed, or almost; she will be when Major Domont asks, if he ever does that is. Katrina had briefly met Nic a few years prior, and it seems he’s forgotten her – the rogue! – while the teenaged Katrina daydreamed about the dashing privateer. I had a smile on my face right from the start. Ms. Cameron’s lively descriptions make everything so vivid, I nearly pinched my nose a time or two at some rather revolting things, in our modern eyes! Collette Cameron possesses an unmatched vocabulary, every witticism is perfectly chosen and some bons mots are often quite hilarious. The story itself is quite simple, and utterly delectable: everything is in the delightful dialogues, the wonderful characterisations, the colourful and oft amusing images the author so accurately paints, and most of all the wonderful rapport between Nic, Katrina, and also the irrepressible Miss. Sweeting. Ms. Cameron’s writing is like the most luxurious cashmere: warm, light, timeless, elegant, and it always feels so good. TO TAME A SCOUNDREL’S HEART is hopelessly addictive: I had something else to do, but I couldn’t stop reading; Katrina and Nic’s story was simply too good! TO TAME A SCOUNDREL’S HEART should come with a warning: lovers of the English language, be prepared to ooh and aah, sigh and smile, and aficionados of historical romance, brace yourselves: TO TAME A SCOUNDREL’S HEART could induce one to swoon! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

It’s rather about a couple who meet again under funny circumstances and the heroine thinks he’s handsome, attractive, but off limits. Of course the hero is completely smitten with her. Theirs is a meet cute that made me snicker out loud. The dialogue is charming and the story telling perfect. Katrina does come to terms with her “engagement” to a rotten man, but in the end it’s neat and tidy. The scoundrel, Dominic comes off as needing to be tamed, but truly he’s a hero who knows what he wants and how he will achieve it. Overall, this quick read was just what I needed to freshen up my mood. It can be read as a standalone. A chance meeting gives her something to occupy her time and possibly more. Dominic St. Monté just inherited the last thing he wants – a bloody title complete with sisters and responsibilities that will keep him bound to the land. What’s a new Duke to do? Marry of course and preferably a respectable, mild mannered lady who has no problem with her husband returning to his one true love – the sea. But how and where is on to find such a lady? A chance meeting may prove to be the solution or create a problem. From their first meeting Dominic proves he is more than what Katrina has heard which may be more than she can handle. Katrina demonstrates everything Dominic wants in a wife, the only thing standing in his way – her almost engagement and his longing to return to sea. Add in a harpy, eccentric aunt, three sisters and the return of Katrina’s almost fiancée and you have a great story. Top it off with Collette Cameron’s unique wit and writing style and you have an exceptional story.

Kat speaks her mind and I love that she isn’t one of those regency heroines who is always thinking about what others will say, she genuinely cares for Nic and is willing to sacrifice her own happiness in order for him to be successful. It’s a novella but it truly reads like a full fledged book, the author packed in a ton of details that make this a delicously satisfying read. Normally I back away from novellas but this was exactly what I needed. It was romantic, sensual, and it stayed true to the time period which is also a pet peeve of mine. I give this five roses that rule and will be checking out this authors other works!

Very enjoyable novella! I love the cover. This is a good short read. Dominic (Nic) is a privateer who previously believed he was the illegitimate son of a Duke. He inherits the title and 2 half-sisters on the death of his half-brother. Katrina is the daughter of a wealthy commoner. She decides to help Nic find a wife so his sisters can live with him. Katrina believes she has a suitor but hasn't heard from him recently. However, as his aunt is a family friend she always thought Nic attractive. Nov Very enjoyable novella! I love the cover. Perfectly Witty & heartfelt short story!! Fabulous!! The chemistry between Nic and Kitty positively sizzles from the first meeting. Instantly hooked both with Kitty's honest and witty musings and Nic's heart and roguish charm, I didn't want the book to end. I even loved the subcharacters both in the Needhams as a family and Miss Sweeting and Nic's innocent sisters. It was quite an interesting change to read a Regency where the heroine has a supporting and loving family; a lot of the time the conflict in historicals is supplied by Family Issues. A delightful romance about Katrina, a smart, imaginative and fun woman and Nic, the Pirate turned Duke, who enters her life. Smart, funny and romantic. The book isn't long but it is a complete story. I enjoyed the secondary characters as much as the main characters. Engaging characters, loving relationships and a HEA. Sweet with dry humor I really enjoyed this novella. Well-written with nary a punctuation error, the author employs an entertaining mixture of dialogue, dry humor, and introspection to create a sweet and gently amusing romance. Can Nic and Katrina relinquish their carefully planned futures and trust love to guide them? Next, my opinion – Quite simply, I loved it. The characters were fully fleshed out, and they just seemed to leap right off the page. This is part of a larger series, but I have not read any of the others, and I did not feel as if I was missing any information. (Something I’m working on in my own writing!) The romance built at a believable pace – and was helped along by the fact that Dominic and Katrina knew each other beforehand, which allowed them to express already existing interest. Perhaps the only thing I didn’t like is that the Major, Katrina’s intended, was made out to be a bit of a… butthead. Considering he had not yet asked for her hand, I don’t feel that was necessary. For the record, I like stories with bad guys – I just don’t like to write them, so this is 100% a personal opinion, lol. I highly recommend this book, though. It’s a short, fun read!

This is the 4th book in Ms. Cameron’s “A Waltz with a Rogue” series but it can be read as a standalone. A beautifully written tale filled with humoristic bits and pieces which bring the story to life in a particular way. It must have something to do with a roguish privateer turned duke by a trick of fate and his quest to find the perfect duchess, a woman who will provide him with an heir and will care for his half-sisters and his elderly aunt while he continues to roam the seas – or so he thinks. But, Fate has more than one trick up her sleeve. Both main characters – St-Monté and Katrina – are very well-defined and so well-matched. I’ve had a lot of fun watching them slowly fall for one another. The secondary characters are interesting as well. Fell in love with Percival and Pugsley – those two are something. I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love reading Ms. Cameron's stories and this was another great edition to the series. I loved Katrina's sass and feisty character. Nic was a deliciously, sexy uncommon hero who warmed my heart with how much he wanted to take care of his aging aunt and little sisters. It's sometimes difficult to convey a well-rounded character in a novella but Ms. Cameron did not leave me with any unanswered questions. My only complaint though is that I loved the characters so much that I wanted the story to continue . It would be nice to revisit this family when the little sisters are making their comeout (wink, wink...nudge, nudge) and see what antics the twins can get into...just saying. :) I received a copy of this story for an honest review. Ms. Cameron is one of my favorite authors so I can't wait to read what she writes next.

I'm not quite sure how Collette Cameron keeps writing one fabulous book after another, but I hope she continues! To Tame a Scoundrel's Heart was wonderful. Nic is a hero like no other. This was an utterly charming story. I have loved each of the Waltz with a Rogue Novella, but this has been my favorite by far. I, much like Katrina, was charmed by Dominic St. Monte. He was a such a great hero and not all what I was expecting, which is good thing. It was quite easy to see that Katrina and Dominic were the perfect pair and it was fun to watch them figure it out for themselves. The whole time I was reading this story I had a smile on my face. A short and sweet novella, sans the dumb mind games of some of the other stories in this series. I admire the H in this one, and while the h was a little boring and too sweet for me, she wasn't annoying or worse yet, dumb. She made her choices without needless hemming and hawing, crying, or other methods of carrying on. My one quibble is that I wish there was less focus on how beautiful or handsome one MC found the other. It made the love between seem more superficial than it actually was.
