I thought once we confessed everything, it would all fall together, but it was just as messed up as ever. I was still confused about everything that had ever existed. Nate was still a psychotic jerk. I didn’t know why we’d moved halfway across the country just so that he could get bored of business school and drop out again. I was starting to get frustrated with myself for I thought once we confessed everything, it would all fall together, but it was just as messed up as ever. I was still confused about everything that had ever existed. Nate was still a psychotic jerk. I didn’t know why we’d moved halfway across the country just so that he could get bored of business school and drop out again. I was starting to get frustrated with myself for always doing whatever he wanted, and I was starting to worry that one day, I’d wake up and hate myself for giving so much up to him. This is a 12,000 word novelette based on the characters from Everything Between Us by Stephen Hoppa. It takes place during the years between the final scene and the epilogue. These scenes were originally stripped from the main book for reasons stated in the preface, however, for the readers who wanted more insight into how Ethan and Nate "figured it out" — this is for you. For a reader who has never read Ethan and Nate's story, you can still enjoy this if all you're looking for is hot, messy, emotional action between two men with D/s tendencies—provided you don't mind a touch of complete and utter chaos and no small amount of destruction and dysfunction.

The author was absolutely right in his disclaimer at the beginning of the book. Some people didn't love the books so much because it felt like it ended just when it was about to truly explain the characters and show their true path together. I was one of those people. The disclaimer stated that this (and some later parts that will hopefully be coming) were some deleted scenes but they weren't sunshine and rainbows and will show the reality of their relationship. This made me very nervous. What was highlighted, however, was absolutely wonderful. It showed them struggling to get to a comfortable and happy place. It showed them learning about the other. It did show real struggles, but it also showed absolute love between them. This deleted part was wonderful and I loved it.

It was so good to get a better perspective on how Ethan and Nate went from a rocky, angst and confusion filled relationship to an HEA. There was never a doubt about the depth of their love for one another, but as they say, the course of true love never runs smoothly. These deleted scenes lent clarity to the way their relationship matured, and I really enjoyed reading about some of the emotional obstacles they were working to overcome. I was happy with the ending but I like a little insight as well Everything between us had the perfect ending but I am ok in getting little bit more on the side of how Nate and Ethan figure it out. They are so young and have so much to figure out before the can get to the point in their epilogue. And I am happy going along for the ride. They are fun, yet real...very real that you can't help love both of their crazy...
