A very practical little book with 22 simple art projects for elementary-aged children. This book focuses on fall and winter with seasonal symbols such as leaves, acorns, apples, snowmen, penguins, and igloos, as well as the traditional holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with a pumpkin man, turkey, candle, reindeer, santa, etc. There are patterns you can reproduce and use multiple times. Basic shapes are used in multiple ways. The author also gives a clear illustration for each project and has suggestions for finishing them creatively. Very few supplies are needed for the child to make an enjoyable art project, one within reach of most children's skill levels. Although this book is written for the busy teacher, it would also be of benefit to busy moms, home schoolers, and grandparents. I hope the author will revise some of the patterns. The basic oval and circle shapes are well-done with thick outlines, but others appear to be pencil sketched and will be a little harder to cut out. Thanks to Goodreads Giveaways for this book.

Time Saving Art Projects for the Busy Teacher: Book 1 is a book with pattern ideas to use during the school year from September to January. It is supposed to be for grades K to 6 but I found it too simple for students beyond first or second grade to use the patterns. Suggestions are given for older students to make their own patterns and incorporate math and art into the lessons. The ideas are cute and the patterns labeled so the instructions can easily be followed. This would be a great reference for a substitute teacher to have when they need an extra plan or for a teacher when lessons go faster than planned as a backup lesson plan or a treat for a job well done. I want to thank Diane Robbins, author and Goodreads First Reads Giveaway for my copy of Time Saving Art Projects for the Busy Teacher: Book 1 that I won in the Giveaway.

I won this book on Goodreads. I was disappointed in the projects, while they are easy they are so easy that a book really isn't needed to do them. There was nothing new or special about the projects. I won this book on Goodreads. I was disappointed in the projects, while they are easy they are so easy that a book really isn't needed to do them.
