This is for a little older beginning reader. Maybe 2-4th grade. There are a few real pictures in this book so it really isn't so much a picture book as a more informative reader on the subject of MLK. It gives some more details than others I have read. It is a little too old for my 4 and 6 year olds. Maybe they are tired of hearing the same things over again or maybe there aren't enough pictures, or maybe it was the middle of the afternoon. I don't know. I think this is a good pre-middle grade bo This is for a little older beginning reader. Maybe 2-4th grade. We read this to the kids at the Library and I love them learning words like segregated.

Too long for kindergarten but explains things well. Could cut out some passages to condense for kindergarten.
