There are definitely 'those girls', but the main characters are strong, good, AWESOME CHICKS OF EPIC AWESOMENESS. Idk why you're still reading this. Get out of here and go download it!

I really tried to love this one. I liked that we had characters I previously met in Black Number Four (Which I enjoyed immensely). The book reads a bit like a tv show, the chapters feel like scene changes. Where as I like that type of style with some books I found it so confusing in this first episode of Palm South. I wasn't given enough to feel invested in any of the characters as such and felt like I was being passed around pillar to post. I got about 30% in and gave up. It’s difficult to rate each individual episode in this series, as it’s such an addiction that I immediately jumped from one episode into the next. We do not follow one couple, instead we follow an entire group of friends and get to see the ups and downs that come with college life. This is one of those addictive reads that pulled me into the story in so many different ways. I adored how different the characters were, how many different elements there were to the story, and I could not put it down. I could not name a single favourite, as I adored everything. Each detail was different, and it kept me turning the pages at an insane rate. There were a few things that were never taken as far as they could have been – I felt there were some elements that were introduced just to add another element to it – but this was not enough to lessen my interest. I loved how much there was in this one, and I’m eager to see how everything develops. Without a doubt, this was an insanely addictive read that has me desperate for more of the series.

She's attending with her best friend Paris and she couldn't be happier, they have been best friends through high school and are ready to take PSU by storm. But in things change, and college just might send them in different directions. Cassie is down to earth, all american type girl, who seems to be real and grounded. Paris, not so much she seems a little full of herself and all about the partying and boys and who's house is bigger ... everything else is not a concern. Jess and Skylar, I really liked them both ... Jess is fun character who seems to be full of life and ready to just have fun. Skylar seems to be a very caring person and I think she will be a good fit for Cassies Big. Bear I liked him a lot he seems to have been through a lot in his life and he seems to have had to grow up way before his time due to the behavior of his mother. He seems like a good guy, caring, and ground, but he also seems to be dealing with a lot and I'm excited to see how his story plays out. All in all I loved this first installment, I loved that we get three different characters points of view, I loved that the characters seem real, and I can't wait to continue this journey and see where they go!

This being a short episode of the series, we’re just getting wee snippets of each characters back story. Cassie is determined to be studious and be a doctor. Jess…well, Jess likes to keep her hoo-hah happy. And Bear has issues at home that he’s unwilling to share with anyone. This episode ends with the pledging to the sorority and Cassie figuring out that this is the start of her college years. I’ve not read much in the way of episodic serials. So I don’t know if this is how it’s supposed to go, but I know that Ms. Steiner has said she wants to feel like a tv show. And she’s accomplished that goal. You get just enough to whet your appetite for the next story to come. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I will have these posted every Tuesday for six weeks. :D So join me in unraveling college life at PSU! This is definitely for the adult crowd. The nookie is naughty and hawt!

This was an enjoyable read for me but I found the characters difficult to follow. There are so many names and characteristics to remember about each person that it was difficult for me to switch from character to character POV's throughout the book. It did get easier towards the end and I imagine that Season 2 will be a little bit better in that respect. I'm still waiting to make some connection with the characters...maybe I'm too old! PSU is a set of serial novellas that came out every week, just enough suspense in between each one to make us readers go stir crazy. In episode one you meet pretty much everyone you'll need to know by the end of season one, being that each chapter is a different character which is probably the best part about PSU. The first person you meet is Cassie, a pretty red head from Arizona, moving to Florida with her best friend and fellow red head Paris. Going away to college and rushing a sorority with your best friend seems like a pretty genius idea, right? Cassie quickly learns by the end of episode one that maybe her and Paris aren't as close as she thinks they were. The most obvious thing is the different houses they want to rush. Where as Cassie didn't feel a connection with any of the houses, it all changes when she leaves the KKB house. Paris on the other hand wants to go to a house that isn't "so boring" as she put it. The next person you meet is Bear and let me tell you, I want him as my best friend and big brother. He is the best thing ever, think of your BFF goals and that is Bear. His real name being Clinton, I would try to find a cool nickname like Bear too. His blood family may not be the best, save for his little brother Clayton, but getting to choose your family, now that is the best thing in life. Next comes Jess one of the girls in KKB that Cassie met during her tour. You can tell just from the beginning that this girl is going to cause some trouble along the way. When Jess sneaks out of the KKB house to get drunk and hopefully hook up with someone she wasn't prepared for the strong need for round two. Hell, I would want a million rounds with the guy she describes. The end of episode one circles back to Cassie and she struggles with which sorority to pick. does she go with KKB, the only house she actually felt comfortable in or should she go with another house? Does she want to be in the same house as Paris to try and stay friends, is it even worth it? Sitting at a pond on campus the last night she has to choose a house, Cassie talks to a girl that she knows is in a sorority but as it would be considered "dirty rushing" she doesn't know until the embroidered letters on this strange girls bag gives her away. The problem with "suiciding" a house is that if they don't want you, then you don't have a house to run to when the time comes. The next day all of the girls rushing are forced to sit on their envelopes that give them their fate. Does Cassie have a home to run to or will she end up alone and have Paris shun her? Will Paris shun her when they end up in different houses? Why is Paris such a shitty friend? (I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE ANSWER TO THAT ONE *EHEM*) When they get to open their bids and run home, Paris acts like Cassie was only supposed to choose Zeta and not have her own choice. When Cassie gets to the KKB house she realizes just how much magic the pond from the night before really held when she sees the girl. Though this is only the beginning of season one, things seem to be falling a little bit more into place.

You get glimpse into different characters and their stories. I will be doing a review for all 6 episodes of the first season of Palm South University. If you read Black Number Four then you were introduced to many of side characters including Cassie, Bear, Jess, Ashlei and many others. In Palm South University you get to dive in deeper with these characters. In the first episode we are first introduced to Cassie. (I have to fan girl for a moment because GUYS Kandi honored me by giving Cassie my last name! How freaking awesome.) "Cassie McBee.” “Pretty name!” In the first episode Cassie and her best friend are freshman who are going through the process of rushing a sorority. This is where it all starts for Cassie. We see that at first Cassie isn't sure if sorority life is for her but we get to see thought process and feelings through the journey. We are also introduced to one of my other favorite characters Bear. No that isn't his real name but he is like a cuddly teddy bear so you can't help but call him Bear. Bear is easy to fall in love with and he will pull on your heart strings. Bear didn't have a cookie cutter life so there is a lot to his story that Kandi gives us glimpses in the first episode. One of the other characters who you can't help but love is the feisty and sassy sex kitten Jess! Jess will make you laugh with some of the things she thinks and what comes out of her mouth. Their are rules in place and Jess seems to be one for bending the rules and having a blast during her college years. And it is evident that Jess loved to have a good time with the boys on campus. "I love them, don’t get me wrong, but damn –a girl needs a break. And a penis. Just saying." If all this happens in just the first episode of the season you can only imagine what is yet to come. This is a quick and easy read that will make you fall in love deeper with the campus of PSU. The place where you find your true self, friendship and if you're lucky maybe a little love. "You end up where you belong. So, follow your heart."

I fell in love with PSU when I read BLACK NUMBER FOUR by Kandi Steiner. When I found out there were going to be short stories focusing on the secondary characters from the book, I just had to get my hands on them all! Kandi does a great job of introducing the reader to the world that is PSU in this first episode. It is fun, full of cameos from the featured spotlight characters and each chapter is from a different POV. At first I wondered how she would take so many people, give them a real story I fell in love with PSU when I read BLACK NUMBER FOUR by Kandi Steiner. It is fun, full of cameos from the featured spotlight characters and each chapter is from a different POV. At first I wondered how she would take so many people, give them a real story that wasn’t shallow or distracting, and weave it in such a way that it was smooth and fun. Well, no need to wonder because even in the first short episode, I can tell this series is going to be awesome. The reader is taken into the fascinating and fun world of collegiate fraternity and sorority. I always wished I could have been a part of a sorority and now I feel like I can finally dive into that world in Kandi’s books. In the first episode, we are introduced to Bear, Cassie, and Jess. If you read BLACK NUMBER FOUR, these names and characters will be somewhat familiar. I loved seeing what is happening in different areas of campus and with different people. With Bear, we see him settling into his fraternity and getting back into the college life. With Cassie, we see a freshman on the verge of diving head first into a world she has never been a part of. With Jess, we see a girl that is just looking for something to take her away from it all. Kandi Steiner does a great job of giving the reader a solid chapter from one POV, a chapter that draws you into the beginning of a story and leaves you curious for more. I thought I might be annoyed switching back and forth, leaving one story for another, but while I read, I wanted more and switching POVs created a “more” environment. Reading this first episode was like seeing a painting for the first time and a spotlight only shines on one section at a time… You study that section till the light goes out and you are redirected to another portion of the painting. It develops what you are seeing but takes you in a direction that is different than taking it all in at the same time. I really liked that! Needless to say, I am VERY excited about this serial and I cannot wait for more! Tuesdays will be your favorite day of the week!

Right now, developmentally speaking, Bear and Cassie are pretty much the only two characters that were built up in this installment. Although we had a few others, and Jess, it seemed their roles were minimal. Or at least at this stage. Jess is a train wreck and I want to say there is more to her than meets the eye, but we shall see. For some reason I want to like her, maybe it's the name lol, but I feel that in order for that to happen someone will need to smack some sense into her. I really did enjoy Cassie's POV. Being part of sorority life myself, rushing and having that first hand experience, I felt her uncertainty and interactions were more realistic than others "Greek life" books I have read. The author does an excellent job in describing the diversity in each while capturing a college lifestyle. I have high hopes for these novellas. I'm already addicted and luckily have season 2 on hand. Although, it should be called episode two because it's like the hour has gone by too fast and your itching for next week's show!! 4 *WINK* READ Book Flirts by Jessi http://bookflirtsbyjessi.blogspot.com www.facebook.com/bookflirts @bookflirtsjessi [email protected]

I have a feeling Kandi Steiner will let us know soon enough, but her portion of this book seemed off to me. I am already waiting for the next installment of this series to release. I am already sucked in to what I know is going to be some crazy drama, and some good times. I loved seeing Sky and Cassie already starting to bond, and I can't wait to see what happens next. Be warned this definitely reads more like a TV episode than it does a book but the way it is written is amazing! If you have read Black Number Four (stand alone) then you are familiar with some of these characters already, since they are supporting characters in this book. If you haven't, then welcome to Palm South University!

I think this could be summed up for me with the thoughts of Cassie (who I would describe as shy - but could easily break out of her shell with the right encouragement) on her experience at PSU: I'm here to get a degree, and that's more important to me than anything else. But at the same time, I'm here to have fun. And right now, standing in a yard full of shirtless fraternity boys and sisters who will be by my side through all the shit college will throw at me, I know without a doubt there will be no shortage of fun in my life. And then there's Jess who is about as wild as they come. Her encounter with the extra hot bartender left me reeling: "You didn't wait for me last time. That's fine. But you're going to come again. With me, this time." Holy hotness!!! I can't wait to see what Kandie has in store with the next few installments!!!

Jess goes looking for a one night stand and I think she might have gotten more then she bargained for. We will see. Asheli is keeping a secret and lying about where she is going. She doesn't think her sisters will understand if she tells them the truth. Fantastic start to this new series. Can't wait to find out what everyone gets up to. I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Parties, Drinking, Boys, Friends, and repeat ... wait did I say boys? Whether you have read Black Number Four or not, you will love this. But if you are a #BN4 fan it is awesome. Timing wise it starts before #BN4, with Cassie pledging sororities. There are two points of view to show you both sides of Greek life. Cassie is new to Palm South University and she is checking out Greek row with her high school best friend. Bear is struggling to deal with his less than perfect family. Skylar is on the scene interacting with both. And let's not forget the hot scene Jess stars in ;) Favorite passages: - I’m wondering if this was the right choice. This campus is crawling with walking, talking Barbies. - “Parties, boys, lavish events, boys, study groups, boys. Need I say more?” - Thank God I have my fraternity brothers. Real families are a disappointment. - “Why, whatever were we thinking, Cassie?” I find my voice and try to keep up with the banter. “We’re not being very ladylike, at all!”

It is no secret that I love serials and I especially love serials set up like television dramas. You know what I am talking about. To me reading a serial like this is a perfect little break between books, enough to suck you in and then you get to do it all again the next week. Palm Beach South Episode One is exactly what I was expecting and more. It was a quick paced introduction to a few characters and it leaves you aching for the next episode. This was the perfect introduction to about 4 or 5 characters that gave you just enough back stories to know that this was going to be a great “season”. College/Fraternity/Sorority life in Palm Beach Florida is going to be a wild ride. 4 Stars ♥ Sophie

As soon as I knew there was going to be a serial about Palm South I immediately started making a list of characters I wanted to see again from Black Number Four. Thank goodness this first episode brought almost all of them back! I thought this was a fun quick read and I loved every minute of it! Bear has always been one of the characters I wanted to know more about and I am so glad we are seeing his backstory. It explains a lot about how he is with Skyler. I was never part of the Greek life in college, my school did not have sororities so it's fun to see all of the traditions explained in detail. I am already geared up for episode 2!

Palm South University series is gonna make it big! I think it is totally awesome how Kandi Steiner has created a drama series in a book! This first book will give a quick glimpse into the lives of the Palm South crew and I can't wait to see what is gonna happen next! We did meet some of these characters in another book called Black Number 4 and I was super stoked to see them get a whole series! If you have read Black Number Four, you will be delighted to see some of the familiar names that you were introduced to in this book. This episode we spend time with Bear, Jess, Cassie and Skylar. This is a fun start to KKB new pledges and what they will be getting into. You see some friendships forming, some friendships dissolving, and you will see into some of the drama that is taking place outside the university. You see a lot more insight to the fraternity / sorority fun.
