Wow! I know it is a novella, but I was still surprised when I got to the end. Not surprised at the HEA ... but surprised that the story was already at the end when I got there. Brief heat was saved ‘til almost the very end. Despite the history, their tumble in the hay seemed so sudden! And over rather quickly! 😆 Correction: it was identified as a short story - so I really shouldn’t have been surprised by its brevity.

Of course it helps that the crush of her young life, Ryder still lives next door and she still feels the same about him, and there is nothing better than a hot tattooed cowboy! This story left me hoping that there will be more of these two young people, Ryder and Janie! I loved this story and it left me wanting more of them! Great short story, and in true Tess Oliver fashion it draws you in from the first page, and does not release you until the end! I gave this short story 5***** stars!

I loved the chemistry between these two and the fact that their connection was still strong after several years apart. I truly felt these two were made for each other and glad that they found their way back to one another.

3 to 3 1/2 stars This was a short, sweet read. It had a rather quick ending that left me feeling like it needed just a bit more of the story to be fleshed out and told regarding these characters. I fully realize it's a short story/novella (which I often enjoy reading) and I went into it with that knowledge, but I've read some short stories/novellas that have felt complete while others don't quite get there for me even as I've liked them. That being said, I would definitely try something else from 3 to 3 1/2 stars This was a short, sweet read. Loved this sweet realistic novella. A sexy entertaining reminder that you can always go home. Never let the straight and narrow allow you to not enjoy the curves and bends in life. Flexibility and adaptation may prove to be the path that leads to a HOTT HOTT YUMMY answer. I sure would love to see more of this storyline and characters. This was a quick and sweet read about Janie, whose life has had a bit of an upheaval, reconnecting with Ryder, her teenage crush. I liked the small town setting, and Ryder was a good guy. The ending was a little abrupt, I wish there had been just a bit more.
