This book wasn't the worst one in the series. I kinda liked Mia at some point, she is developing as a character, which I like. Think Pink: The fact that there is breastcancer awareness in this book is something I could appreciate. I like the fact that the book wasn't all about the sex, this one. It was more about the story, doing good things and about Mia as a person. Solid Story: The story wasn't about having sex all month and earning a lot of money with it. It wasn't about how Mia is having 5 orgasms a day and receiving new clothes and going to great parties. This story was more about the people around you, about growing as a person and helping out. Cons Mia: So Mia get's better this book, but I'm still not that fond of her. The fact that she can't go without an orgasm for 2 weeks and is spying on people who have sex to get off herself, is really not something that was necessary in this book. This book was a little better than last one. Mia is developing as a character and I hope the books are getting better. It's a quick read, for about a 100 pages and I feel like these books shouldn't be any longer. It's just a nice light read for in between books.

This month Mia is the pretend girlfriend of baseball player Mason. It's another great book in this series, although I did enjoy it a bit less than the previous ones, not quite sure why. It was pretty hard to like Mason at first, he was rude, a player, treated women badly, drank too much, arrogant and immature. It was pretty hard to like Mason at first, he was rude, a player, treated women badly, drank too much, arrogant and immature. Mia is there to help his image by being his pretend girlfriend and it was great to see the change in Mason. I think the change went a bit fast, but it was believable. He slowly started changing his attitude and it made more sense why he acted that way in the first place. I did like him more at the end after he's changed, but I didn't like him as much as Mia her previous clients. There's also a plot development and two scenes towards the end of the book which were so predictable and cliché it annoyed me a bit. When the scene started I knew what would happen next and ofcourse it did and even how it got solved was predictable once the set-up scene happened. I understood why the characters acted that way, but I've just seen that particular type of scene too often. Just like in the other books it's awesome to see what impact Mia has on the life of those she visits and how they in turn help or and become her new friends. In this book Mia not only helps mason, she also get's a glimpse of the life of a professional baseball play and helps organize a charity auction. We got a small view of the other ball players and a few scenes with those, but it's mostly about Mason, Mia and Rachel. I really enjoyed the charity event and thought it was great what they accomplished. We also keep hearing from the previous clients, which I thought was a nice addition as it gives the series a feel of continuity. Both Alec and Wes play a role. There's also a phone call that Mia has with her best friend Gin, although I agreed with Rachel that it's weird how they interact, I also think it's great Mia has such a great friend. To summarize: I liked this one a bit less than the previous books, but it was still a good book, There's a nice romance, some sex scenes and new developments in the bigger plot line. I really didn't like Mason at first, but he changes a lot. I liked seeing Mason change and even Mia learn a few new things again and be able to make a difference in Mason his life and leave the city with two new friends. I also liked how the previous characters and clients continue to play a role.

Re-read in sept 2020, going to lower my rating down to 3 stars (I´m more picky in my ratings now than I was back when I started here). I'm really liking this series. Every book is like a chapter, divided into smaller chapters. I like how this series is played out, going one month at a time. This time Mia is playing a fake girlfriend to a hot shot baseball player and learning more about herself and life and having a great time doing it. This was a book without great emotions or a great story, I did not really sympathize with Mason nor do I think it added something new to Mia's life. Except the lesson she draws from each of the clients. And it was a disappointment to Wes's situation, though I could understand, my romantic side was hoping for better. I find myself saying this as I keep reading, but each month in this serial seems to get better and better. For me, this one is especially special, because Audrey Calan named a character after me! Sure, the character of Rachel isn't super important, but Mason and Mia's story wouldn't be the same without her! I feel totally blessed, and blown away by the ways that Audrey shows her appreciation. <3 Now, about the story...I thought I knew what to expect, but let me tell you, at times April threw me for a loop. At one point, I threw my kindle across the room...then I felt bad, picked it back up, and gave it a hug. I laughed, I cried, and I wished so hard that I could trade places with Mia because of what she got to experience. I may not be a fan of the Boston Red Sox, but for Mason Murphy, and for the month of April, I made an exception. I can't wait to see what Mia will experience next month!

Going into the 4th installment of Mia’s “escort” job, she finds herself in Boston and surrounded by all things baseball as she’s hired to help change the public's view on one Mason Murphy, the Red Sox latest bad boy pitcher. Mia’s time and the whirlwind of activities range from learning about Masons family and jumping on the PR bandwagon for him. but she also plays matchmaker. From her own perspective, she experiences a reality check that left many of us faithful followers in a bit of an emotional conundrum. So it goes to reason that April (Calendar Girl #4) by Audrey Carlan is a bitter-sweet read. Mia continues to build-up her posse and it becomes really evident that the labels that are assigned to relationships aren't nearly as cut and dry as she might have believed. Mia learns early on in the month that she has to remain open about how she defines love and friendship. Had I been reading this in a buddy read, I KNOW I would have felt a collective gasp as Mia is “gently” reminded about the status of her relationship with a “certain someone”. I may be going against the grain, but I felt a rush of relief for Mia. Not initially, no at first was spitting mad and sad. But it became all too apparent that her emotions were much too invested and it was time for her to step back a bit and re-group. I’d be lying if I said I didn't hang on to that feeling, that twinge of disappointment, for a bit. But I think it gives Mia the “permission” to step back and take a new approach, or go back to her original approach. The opportunity to re-visit and reconfirm her path and her emotions presents itself in just the right way and I loved that she got that specific opportunity. Mia still has 8 months to build the funds she’s needs for her family situation. I have no doubt that she won't be meeting many more wonderful people and travelling to some pretty awesome places ( *cough* Colorado *cough*) . Certainly there will be moments of extreme happiness & joy, but regret and sadness as well. After all, that’s life. Mia had a 5 star month - April easily earned my recommendation! If you haven’t started this series, you have a great opportunity to get with the program and purchase the first 4 months in a set for a discounted price of $2.99 Calendar Girl Anthology as each months installment sells for 99¢ I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review

Some of the vernacular is becoming a little rinse and repeat and the dialogue between the main characters seems a little false and at odds to their characters. Not my favourite book so far mainly because of the stupid call she made. In my opinion that has tainted her for me.

*2.5* This series is kind of surprising me, because Mia isn't having sex with all of her clients as I thought at first. Mason was an asshole at the beginning, but I finished the book thinking he was okay, specially because of Rachel. Mia is also surprising me, there are some things about her personality that I enjoy. The thing I really hated about this book was her "revival" with Alec *uughhh* why couldn't it be Wes again, Alec is soooo annoying. *2.5* This series is kind of surprising me, because Mia isn't having sex with all of her clients as I thought at first. Strong, independent Mia is off to Boston to be Mason (Mace) Murphy's "girlfriend." Upon arriving, Mia finds herself in the company of an ill-mannered, womanizing baseball star. Although Mia is crass in her own ways, Mason could use a lesson or two in respecting a woman, not only with his words but also with his actions. Mia is up for the challenge, are you?  This was by far my favorite story so far in this series. I loved seeing growth in not only Mia, but also in Mason. Like I've mentioned before, falling-in-love with a character, or characters is absolutely vital in order for me to really like or love a story. I feel connected to Mia and that connection keeps growing as she becomes more developed as a person. In this installment of the Calendar Girl series, Mia shows compassion, generosity, forgiveness and true friendship. I was disappointed that the ending felt really rushed. The resolve was unexpected; however, once it happened that story just stopped. However, this did not ruin any part of the story for me and it still is one of my favorite parts of Mia's journey.  Word of caution, this book has some potentially offensive content. This is an adult book meant for mature audiences (18+). The book focuses on an escort, Mia. Although Mia is not required to have sexual relations with her clients, the stories are centered around her sex life and sexual experiences during her year of being an escort.   The most enjoyable part of this book for me was when Mia helped Mason and gained more understanding of who he is and why he acts the way he does. Mia shows a great amount of compassion in this story and I truly loved it. I also really appreciate that Mia is growing as a character and is becoming stronger as a person. She feels so real. As a whole, I feel that these books do a great job showing what an escort really does and that they aren't just sex workers.  "Taking chances toward finding your special happiness is important, and far too often people get stuck in the daily grind or think that the life they are living just can't get any better, even when they know they aren't happy."  -Audrey Carlan, April (Calendar Girl 4)

Full review to come closer to release but just know that we learn a lot about Mr Baseball and what his reasons for needing an escort but we also get to see some previous characters in this one! 4/29 Thoughts: It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Audrey Carla Each month is a lesson in patience waiting to see what adventure Mia and Audrey Carlan will take us on and April was no exception! Full review to come closer to release but just know that we learn a lot about Mr Baseball and what his reasons for needing an escort but we also get to see some previous characters in this one! 4/29 Thoughts: It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Audrey Carlan's - I am her self-proclaimed 'biggest fan' so each month is a lesson in patience waiting to see what adventure Mia and Audrey Carlan will take me on! April was no exception! I waited on pins and needles and then devoured the book as quickly as a I could because I HAVE to see what happens! I love that Mia's coming away from these clients with friends and real relationships when she hasn't had a lot of those in her life. These budding friendships show us her human side and honestly they keep me coming back for more and rooting for Mia to continue her journey of self-discovery. Because my HEART wants her to chuck-it-all and run to Wes (book 1 – January Calendar Girl) and let him make all the bad things better and live HEA! But my HEAD knows that this journey will shape and mold her into a woman that will ultimately make life decisions that I will cheer for too! April Calendar Girl takes us to Boston and we meet Mason… let's face it, he is hard to like at first. He has a public persona that he puts out there that has made some potential sponsors turn their nose up at his reputation. Enter Mia and Mason’s PR team. They will whip him into shape and during the month we will learn that the immature and arrogant exterior guards a soft gooey center and that Mason can be a true gentleman, friend and boyfriend when he’s given the right motivation. I hope everyone reads and loves this series as much as I do! Each installment has just enough of the past characters and friends to scratch that itch for me but then gives me a whole new host of people to love and root for. Come on May! Cannot wait to see the waves that Mia makes in Hawaii!
