I just finished this book and my jaw is on the floor and I'm still catching my breath! In this book Alex, Kelly and Mandy who are members of the Invisible Recruits( humans with special supernatural abilities who are saving the world from things no one knows exist) literally go to hell to rescue Aini a seer who has been captured by the "Horned One" and dragged into the depths of HELL. They only have a matter of hours to rescue her as they have to do so before her 16th birthday or ALL is lost. As I just finished this book and my jaw is on the floor and I'm still catching my breath! As the girls descend further into hell they have to face their own fears as well as each others. Each new level challenges them to beyond their limits both physically and emotionally.. Just when you think it can't possibly get any worse or more emotional of course it does! Each team member makes a sacrifice many of us wonder if we could make given the same set of circumstances. This mission is do or die! You will have to read it to find out what happens not giving any spoilers... Mary Buckham has a gift few writers actually possess, When she writes she literally puts you right there next to the characters, you smell what they smell, feel what they feel and you actually see what they see. Its not for the faint of heart ! If you want a book that literally makes you a part of it, grab this series !!..Could this be a stand alone book? Yes,..but once you start reading this series you won't want to miss a word of it!! Don't be surprised if you are gasping for air by the end!!!! I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!

Mary always manages to keep me glued to the book. I have read all her IR books and with every single one I feel closer and closer to the IR family, which is what they really are. She explains whatever happened coming up to the plot of this one with enough but not too much detail to drag on. She is an expert in developing a storyline that reads incredibly well and makes it near impossible to put the book down. It is crazy how many late night sleeps I get when I get one of her books. The bad news for those who haven't read any of her IR books, you will be hooked and you will go back and get the others to find out the entire story, and trust me it is well worth it. I have received this book from the author for an honest review.

I've been looking forward to reading this latest IR instalment and finally got around, and wow, it was a blast. Three women, no matter how strong, traveling into Hell was bound to be no cakewalk. Even these three, and we know how tough Alex is (and Kelly and Mandy aren't exactly pushovers either). This book picks off where the last one left off. As expected, I learned more about the characters, amidst a plot that was anything but linear. But there were layers to this book, layers that built into a breath-stealing whole, from the danger that came from knowing what might happen if the women failed, to the physical demands that would have broken most, to the emotional depths and fears through which our heroines had to crawl. And I was there. Every step I walked beside them, breathed the same air, shared the same gasps, because this is what Mary Buckham does so well. She builds her world not before your eyes, but around you. And your only way out is to finish the read, even if it's 4 a.m. Thank you for another sleepless night, Mary.

Invisible Journey is the latest in Mary Buckham's Invisible series. In this series, a group of young women with "special abilities" are recruited to defend the planet from takeover by paranormal groups. I've never been a big paranormal reader but I like this series. The author has a way of making everything seem perfectly plausible. The characters struggle with being "different" than other people and the author does a great job of allowing the characters to grow, change and develop, and I think Invisible Journey is the latest in Mary Buckham's Invisible series. Vivid descriptions and fascinating concepts. Do we create our own Hell? Will the team be able to conquer their worst fears, and save the young girl and the world?

Mary has never let us down with her IR books, but INVISIBLE JOURNEY literally takes us to Hell and back. The world she’s created, that poor Alex, Kelly, and Mandy have to fight their way through will make you start re-thinking some of your own choices and hoping when your time comes, you’ll get to take the escalator UP! If you haven’t read this series, pick it up and be prepared to enter a new world that will suck you in and leave you wanting more and more. Mary has an imagination like no others and she paints a vivid picture with her words. Very much looking forward to the next book and seeing how Alex handles her next challenge.

In the fourth urban fantasy book about the gutsy group of women known as Invisible Recruits, the risks are at an all-time high, both physically and mentally. The story concentrates on Alex Noziak, and once again the wise-cracking team member must tackle terrifying situations that would make an ordinary person flee in horror. But she knows what is at stake if her mission is not completed, and nothing is going to stop her if there is the slightest possibility she can still push on. But she knows what is at stake if her mission is not completed, and nothing is going to stop her if there is the slightest possibility she can still push on. Mary Buckham gives Alex her most demanding trials to date, where her mind and heart are constantly at odds. INVISIBLE JOURNEY is riveting with danger yet also touchingly emotional. Trying to locate one particular person in the Underworld will not be easy, but Alex Noziak is willing to do everything she can to make it happen. When a demon came from Hell and managed to grab a teenaged girl during a boldly fought clash, the consequences of not retrieving her quickly could be catastrophic. The demonic being wants the young girl who is a Seer to establish a portal from the Underworld to her own world, as he wants to turn Seekers loose on the human population in order to make him all powerful. Now Alex and two other Invisible Recruits have arrived in the Spirit World, where they have a short timeline in which the task must be accomplished. All the past missions Alex and her fellow team members have gone on were successfully achieved, but she is not very optimistic about the outcome of her current assignment. While she knew this could be the toughest set of circumstances she has ever faced, the reality of each new encounter sadly proves her right. What decisions Alex ultimately makes might cause changes not only in her world but also in her personal life. Taking place the day after a big battle concludes, the conflicts in INVISIBLE JOURNEY start immediately and never let up. I was in a panic on more than one occasion, as I feared for the life of Alex plus her companions numerous times. What they came across during their travels through Hell are exceedingly original, as Mary Buckham has created lots of innovative difficulties for the trio to overcome. From inventive individual features to creepy abilities, the unique beings that inhabit this version of Hell make the reader hope they never find themselves there for even just a second. But not knowing who or what Alex will have to go up against in the next scene doubles the reading pleasure, because a huge surprise is often on an upcoming page. While the physical peril is nonstop, the threat to what Alex is feeling inside is almost as distressing to her. What she learns along the trek to finding the missing girl is actually enlightening, but often the final cost is higher than she wants to pay. Ms. Buckham puts the three Invisible Recruits through the wringer more times than I could count, yet each battle seemed to make these determined women even stronger. The way in which the book ends only makes me want the next story sooner. Mary Buckham, please write as fast as possible! INVISIBLE JOURNEY is darkly intriguing with imaginative jeopardy. Just as one challenge was conquered, another was thrown in their path and was even worse than the one before! I cannot recommend this series enough to people! It is one of my favorites and with the addition of this book, it only keeps getting better and better! Amazingly written with graphic and detailed descriptions of everything that is happening this story will draw you in and not let you stop reading until that last page is turned. Definitely an excellent books and series.

Never get complacent when reading about Alex and her fellow recruits. If you do, you're headed for a fall.
