I’ve listened to Dr. David Jeremiah many times. This was my first book, and won’t be my last. He writes like he speaks, easy to understand but bringing a great message to help us deal with trials and tribulations of life. This was a 2.99 Kindle special.

Sometimes how a book affects you has to do with when you read it. I would recommend reading this book for anyone who is currently experiencing their own bend in the road. Jeremiah takes the reader on a journey through the book of Psalms so we can better understand how those before us dealt with difficulties in their life. He does a great job of extrapolating the larger concepts of each Psalm and applying them to our problems of today. Overall, I found the book to be uplifting and practical at the same time.

Excellent book about the bends in the road our lives take and how God is there at every bend. Very relevant to my life right now after the loss of a spouse this summer.

A great book for anyone facing life's changes. Lost your job, family problems, illness, etc. Written from David Jeremiah's experience with his own cancer. Any person that experiences a life changing event would benefit from David Jeremiah's personal story and the stories of many others shared in his book. He enriches his story with characters from the Bible also. My husband and I both enjoyed the chapter on depression. Life throws us curve balls, we have to learn to have faith during those times, and look for the good that God can bring out of them. This book purports to be an account of Dr.David Jeremiah's experience in dealing with cancer (from the perspective of a Christian dealing with a crisis). Dr. Jeremiah also approaches the Christian perspective of dealing with a personal crisis by using the Psalms and King David's life as examples. This is all good, but the author spent almost no time talking about his own experience in dealing with his own crisis. In this, I was disappointed. This book was a tremendous help to me. Instead of sitting an wondering "why me?" this author helps you to look at God's perspective of the twists and turns that come into our lives. It helped me to remember that He has a plan and purpose in everything that comes our way. Whether the storm is according to His design or as a result of our choices, we can still grow and become more conformed to His image. This book was a tremendous help to me. The title says it: Finding God when your world caves in. It's a bit humbling to hear D. Jeremiah as his tortuous (but victorious) bout with cancer as, "A Bend in the Road" but he does a great job of keeping things in perspective and communicating that to us!
