Kode Sterling is the jerk who doesn’t care what anyone thinks. Tria Noles hides under a cold façade to appear strong and confident. There’s no possible way they could be anything together besides a volatile disaster. But when their chemistry overrides their logic, they have no choice but to face their twisted attraction to each other. When that attraction refuses to fade, what started off as physical turns into something neither of them expected — or wanted. Tria has spent most of her life living in her sister’s shadow, and it’s no secret that Kode was once one of the many who adored Rain Noles. It’s hard for her not to keep her guard up, because she doesn’t want to feel overlooked once again. Kode starts to realize he might have been chasing the wrong Noles girl all these years. And there’s a lot he did wrong in the past when chasing Rain that could jeopardize any future he has with Tria. There’s a thin line between love and hate, just as there is a thin line between success and disaster.

10 stars! Favourite in the series :) But... Rain and Dane... I liked them less here... firstly I didn't love them as much as Kode and Tria anyways, but my god here they were so up themselves, convinced everything revolves around them. 10 stars! Now this book was the reason I fell in love with this series! Author did a great job because at the end of book 3 I was left with doubts about how was she going to make me love Kode. Especially after Rain failed to return his feelings for over 11 years. Yeah Yeah he did a terrible thing but not everything was on him. On the other hand we have Tria. (I loved this chick!) She is Rain’s sister who just like Kode is always in the shadow… except that Rain had the Sterling boys and she was just the victim of their pranks in order to protect Rain. But as things would have it, even the worst enemies have the ability to fall in love… Oh My God! And what a Steamy way to fall in love! It was amazing, they were playing pranks and all but they were actually together and not just fighting. They got together and instead of denying their attraction they acted on it. Tria had insecurities but her attitude was amazing, she believed in Kode and trusted him! Kode was possessive (I loved how he was when drunk), and so sweet with her, he showed her a new side of him that not even Rain saw. I am a true fan of this book. I even think it’s safe to say it’s my favorite up until now! ps. What the hell! what's happening with Kade!

Funny, lots of banter, the plot was brilliant and the chemistry between the two were off the charts. It is very rare ( for me at least) that a series keeps getting better and better. It could be the devotion to the characters? The feeling that they might actually be living breathing people. ( I know, I know, they are fictional and all that boring stuff, but the fact the Owens makes me feel this way? That takes truly talent. WOW...I loved Hooked on the Game and while I enjoyed reading about Ash/Tag and Rain/Dane, I still wasn't as excited about their stories as I was for the first one, but this book absolutely changed that. So I was really excited when this was all romance...it was a beginning to end story and it was all about them. I really liked Tria in The Sterling Boys so it didn't take much for me to fall in love with her. But what did surprise me was how much I came to love Kode. While I didn't hate him in the previous novel, I definitely wasn't a fan of him. But they had such great chemistry and were so carefree that it made it so much fun to read. And there weren't any false starts or hold and cold episodes...once they committed, they were committed and it was so damn sweet and wonderful to read. It also made the reappearance of the letter incident that much more heartbreaking, like crying into my pillow at 4 AM heartbreaking. But it was handled so well, everyone reacted in a way that actually made sense and with an appropriate level of intensity. Kode and Tria are easily my favorite couple in this series and I can't wait for him to change the name in his phone to My Wife :)

Hmmmm.... I actually like this one better than Breaking Even. Tria is a strong heroine but I got a tad bit disappointed when she was thinking this "I know women would kill to be in my spot right now." (meaning with Kode) I mean, it's fiction but Really? Really? I don't think I will continue reading this series. Read some reviews that they have the same formula. Hmmmm.... I actually like this one better than Breaking Even. Okay, let me start off by saying.. Tria and Kode were perfect for each other. Why? Cos they're just so immature.. they were not likeable at all! This book is pretty much sex scenes, Tria and Kode whining about their siblings and feeling sorry for themselves. They swear they're so into each other but are constantly talking about Rain..like damn Tria could you get anymore insecure? Your man wanted HER not the other way around! Lol It's quite annoying how Tria wanted a relationship with her sister Okay, let me start off by saying.. Tria and Kode were perfect for each other. Why? I guess 'sisters before misters' isn't something Tria believes in. Lol I'm hoping the next book is better or I'm quitting.

OMG I absolutely loved this book. Might actually be my favourite of the Sterling Shore series so far. Counts towards my 2015 Reading Challenge aswell – A book from an author you love that you haven’t read yet. After reading the preview chapter at the end of The Sterling Boys I could feel myself chopping at the bit until it was released. Kode and Tria’s relationship starts off hot and just gets hotter. To say Kode and Tria have hated each other for years would be an understatement. Kode being one of Rain’s ‘Sterling Boys’ would always jump right in to make Tria’s life hell if she so much as looked at her sister wrong. While being pushed aside for so many years with the ‘ideal’ sister to always be compared to you can see where Tria would get her resentment from and her hate for Kode. She knows that he longs to torment her at every opportunity – even now when she has finally started to get on better terms with her sister. In a spur of the moment decision she decides to go out away from Sterling Shore to see if she can get some attention for her and not just someone using her to look around to get to her sister. With her new dark locks she starts to feel like her own person and not compared to her sister. While sitting at the bar she hears the words that make her blood run cold – Sterling. After asking for a new drink to be added to a tab the barman mentions what tab it needs to go to – the one she prays it doesn’t – Kode. Now she just has to figure out a way to get out without him noticing and tormenting her. Bit difficult to do when he slides in right behind her. The moment he starts flirting Tria knows he must not recognize her but now thinks he will torment for a whole new reason when he does. Kode needs to get out of his own head and forget about his feelings for Rain and what he did with that letter – she belongs with Dane and he needs to get over it. Coming to a bar away from Sterling Shore with his cousins Corbin and Maverick was meant to help but he knows he needs a bit more than that and he sees just what he needs sitting at the bar. A brunette beauty from behind sitting by herself that seems to be getting a lot of attention. Because of this he knows she must be a stunner from the front so decides to make a move. He gets the shock of his life though after sliding in behind her when she turns round and he sees that its Tria. Kode doesn’t know what he is more shocked at, the fact that it’s Tria or that he’s still hard knowing it’s her – talk about a mind flip. Tria almost cheers in joy when Raya turns up, she knows Kode won’t torment her in front of Raya for fear it would get back to Rain but this is short lived as Kode just follows after her to the pool table. He asks for just one game and even though she knows it can only end badly for her she agrees – she just didn’t realize he would get so handsy while playing. The more they touch the more Kode thinks he has gone insane and he knows if he doesn’t have her soon he will go mad. Tria tries to deny the chemistry at first but can’t hold out for long and they end up back at her hotel across the street. Kode thinks she is too drunk to try something with her but the moment he sees where she gets the keycard from he can’t stop himself – something neither of them mind one bit about. After a night with the devil Tria doesn’t know how to act around him and just hopes that he doesn’t realize he was with her. While at a party a week later with him ignoring her she can’t help but be glad – and a little downhearted aswell – but its for the best. That is until Kode sees her talking to a guy while they are all in Vegas the following week and he goes into caveman mode pushing her into the pool to get her away from the guy. From this point on they decide to just use each other like they both seem to really want (and need) to. Their ‘casual whatever’ takes a big step forward though when Kode steps in to keep her safe from her psycho ex Pete by getting her to move in with him. The more time they spend together the more they find they have in common. They show a side to themselves that they only share with each other. Kode soon starts to see this turning into a real relationship but can’t help but think that the secret he carries about the letter could ultimately tear them apart. With emotions running high, ex’s to deal with and the hottest chemistry around this in one exciting ride to be on. In the end you hope that Kode finally realizes that he was focusing on the wrong Noles sister all along and will see the light by picking the right one for him forever bringing her out of the shadow she has lived in behind her sister. Loved the club scene between them at the start and even more the one at the end. They’re just perfect for each other. Loved also how all the characters are connected and that you keep getting snippets on what’s going on with them. Would recommend that you read the series in order otherwise you might not get some of the references. Now I’ve just read the preview at the end of it and can’t wait to get stuck into Brin and Rye’s story in Breaking Even, its going to be hilarious. This series just gets better and better :) https://readingnook84.wordpress.com/2...

Kode Sterling is the younger brother of Dane Sterling and the best friend of Rain Noles the object of his young crush and adult desire. Kode does something six years ago that rewrites how life plays out for everyone involved. Tria Noles is the invisible sister to Rain, she has pinned for Kode since she was thirteen only to be overlooked for her sister. A simple change of her hair color changes the course of events and Tria is finally seen as the wonderful woman she has become. Kode is such a great guy once he realizes he may have overlooked the best thing in the world he makes it his mission to make sure Tria is never overlooked again, when secrets get expose he's left fighting to prove what he did years ago was just immaturity but that's not enough to save his relationship with his brother, his best friend and most importantly the woman he finally sees...

They realize how much they actually have in common and how perfect they are for eachother. There is some drama, of course. But that is resolved rather quickly and didn‘t drag on unnecessarily. Kode is a jerk. He is brutally honest to the point of being just rude. He is only nice to the people closest to him, his brother, his cousins, Rain and, after a while, Tria. Falling in love with didn‘t turn him into a mushy sweetheart. He was still a jerk. I can‘t explain why but Kode and his jerkish ways had something endearing about him. Tria is closed off and sensitive. She is used to being overlooked by everyone in favor of her sister. As a teenager, she resented Rain for that but she has gotten over that since becoming an adult and has tried to mend their relationship. Her being stand-offish is often perceived as arrogance while in reality she is just not comfortable in those situations. Tria has her faults. She is stubborn and prideful. But all those faults make her a perfect match for Kode. I love Kode and Tria and their relationship!

Damnnnn. Okay okay so I was wrong about this book. I did not really get the hype about it first but now I do! This book is great and I love both characters so much. What Kode did to Tria back then was sad but the things he did for Tria to make her his were so heartwarming. A mean bully to everyone else but his woman and his inner circle which I loved! Well not the bully part but let me carry on. Anyways, his loyalty and love to his boys and Rain, but mostly Tria was sooo sweet. Although at times Damnnnn. Okay okay so I was wrong about this book. Well not the bully part but let me carry on. Anyways, his loyalty and love to his boys and Rain, but mostly Tria was sooo sweet. Although at times, Kode's anger issues and Tria's insecurities were annoying but I still loved him and and I adored Tria. I felt bad for her. The poor girl was just misunderstood and not really a villain. Rain and Dane... sigh I didn't like them at all, especially Rain. Rain sounds like a pick me girl tbh. Not everything is about her and how she needs to be kept happy. I disliked how mistreated Tria was and felt so bad for her. I like how she is one of the only few people he ever shows his sweet side to and also how she opens up to him gradually. Thank God Kode was finally able to stop pining over Rain and start noticing our sweet Tria. She was overlooked for so damn long. He is the less than perfect Sterling boy in comparison to his golden brother Dane and always living in his shadow but that's what makes me love him soo much. He's a jerk to most people, yeah but he is overly protective over his woman and loving which I loved, especially since she had to deal with her crazy ex-boyfriend and family drama. I also kind of wish Tria had shown a bit more resistance to Kode and not given into him so easily after years of bullying and that he had apologised more for his actions but oh well his actions made up for it and it's not really a big deal since they were able to overcome their relationship issues. Although it made me sad to think about all the lost time they wasted (also not really their fault, however I kind of blame Kode for this a little bit though) when they could have been together and Kode could have gotten over Rain earlier so that Tria would not have had to endure all that on her own. Anyway, the sex scenes are hot and the chemistry like a leaping fireball ready to burst out the pages! Sweet Lord the steaminess was out of this world. I just love the way he treats her. He treats her like a queen, respects her, loves her unconditionally, cares for her, accepts her for who she is, protects her and defends her. If my future boyfriend is not like that, then I don't want it. I want to read about him proposing (if he ever does lmao) and for them to get married. I also never thought I'd say this but Loving War might be in my top 3 favourite books along with Taming a Maverick and my all time fav Make Me. I know I said earlier I was team Darley but this book made me also become team Koia now.

Oh my, I was gone for the world! I freaking love this book! The beginning left me panting and I had to wait few minutes until I moved to next one! I got my coffee, cookies and was considering to have my hubby near me just in case ;) The book is full of sexiness, badness and love! it took me around 3 hours to finish it lol The story tells us the relationship between Tria and Kode – enemies for almost 11 years after their meeting in a club, where both hoped to just run away from their city where no one knows them. They hated each other, but they couldn’t deny the lust they felt towards each other. After one eventful night they decided to be not friends and not enemies with benefits, but purely people with benefits. The whole relationship with no string attached was working perfectly for them, until Tria is attacked again by her ex-boyfriend and Kode feels protective. After that everything changes. Their feelings, the status and how they treat each other. Kode is no longer and ass**** towards Tria and she certainly is not an Ice Queen! After few heartbreaking scenes they decided to make it official, even though they knew what other people will think. I love Kode’s determination when the truth about him, Rain and Dane comes to light. he fights for Tria and their love. But what I love more? Their way of dealing with the break-up hahaha that was hilarious! The book will make you laugh, cry, laugh again, cry so much more. Loved it! And what’s more: Kade and Raya are again making an appearance <3 God, I love that couple! It’s a must read! If you have not read the previous part it can be hard to follow the story! Enjoy the reading!

Kode and Tria.....I cant believe they hated each other. This story was soooooo sweet. I felt for Tria. I was beyond glad that she was so much stronger in this book than in Sterling Boys. Once Kade finally stopped looking at Rain saw the one he was meant for. It's amazing everyone else day it from Tria and he was to busy with Rain. Now don't get me wrong, I do love his protectiveness for Rain but at what point do you finally say yeah I'm gone (especially since she was crazy for Dane). Tria was always shy but when it came to Kade she was NOT having anyone talk bad about him/put him down/anything! she was the fighter in his corner. Two souls that kept getting over looked for their siblings finally found each other and it was beautiful! They were perfectly made.

Gorgeous as all the others. Some points of criticism: Again, there is violence in there. Plus, I again had the feeling that their story wasn't fully told after the epilogue as, again, we don't find out how they are doing years later. Plus, Tria's ex doesn't play the role he does in the book following that one. Don't get why that wasn't included. Also, Tria doesn't seem to be scared because of him. There are maybe two incidents in which she tells us she is but then nothing on that afterwards. And we Gorgeous as all the others. Some points of criticism: Again, there is violence in there. It's different than the ones before. In terms of the plot and the relationship build up. Both characters were endearing in their own way. I couldn't really connect to Tria because yeah I get it, everyone loved Rain and everyone overlooked Tria but please she wasn't the nicest person ok?? In fact, she was a bitch to Rain and now we are just supposed to forget that?! I don't wanna Imagine what would have happened if noone had taken Rain's side. Don't think Tria would have warmed up to her then and Rain would have been left all alone. So no I didn't buy it whenever Tria told us how alone she felt as a teen and the resentments she had against Rain and the way noone ever sees her behind Rain oh give me a break, lady... So no I wasn't fond of Tria because sure she does redeem herself but she still throws one pity party after another. And I still blame her and don't see her as a victim. Now Kode, I got him. I loved the way he stood up for Tria. I am not sure if it really is plausible that he was never attracted to Tria and that he forgot about Rain so quickly but ok... He is an awesome fella and really does right by Tria

Also, he is nursing his broken heart, because he convinced himself he loved Rain, whereas she was meant for his brother Dane Sterling. I really loved this book. Tria and Kode hated each other, however one semi-drunken night changed it all. It was funny reading this relationship growing in the shadows, due to certain circumstances the couple couldn't announce that they were seeing each other, which led to many situation where I couldn't stop giggling. The chemistry was completely off charts. Having to remark I loved the sex scenes!! C.M. Owens did a great job exploring Tria's feelings and her insecurities without making it too repetitive. I seriously LOVED this book!!

I must say this one is my favourite among the whole series. The balance between hate and love. Drama and connection. Just my cup of tea.

This is probably my favourite book in this fabulous series. Tria and Kode’s story. They are past enemies that discover hating each other creates massive sexual heat. As with all CM Owens other books, I’ve reread this one many times. It’s a hot read!
