If you love Broadway, this is another MUST READ! It's such a wonderful behind-the-scenes look. I have friends who have been on Broadway and still learn so much in these books. I look forward to reading the third, too! It's hard for me to find time for physical books, but I loved this book! If you love Broadway, this is another MUST READ! I did not read this continuously by any stretch of the imagination, but I really enjoyed it when I did. I particularly enjoyed reading about the Nederlander, which is where Rent played. Learning about how the theater was updated for Rent was extremely interesting.

You know, it wouldn't have taken me over a year to read this if I hadn't gone a good 7 months without touching it. The stories are interesting (especially all the Rent experiences at the end!), and although it took me a long time to finish, I did enjoy my time reading. This is very interesting and provides a lot of history of Broadway theaters. Some of the stories are very moving. One of the actors interviewed comes off as a jerk (in my opinion) but it just adds to the book. I especially like stories from the ushers, lighting designers, etc. (non-superstars at least in a public sense) because they make up the heart and family of theatre. Now that I live in NYC, it's also fun to read about places and then go see shows there. The author is so clearly a theatre f This is very interesting and provides a lot of history of Broadway theaters. Some of the stories are very moving. My only complaint is I bought the paperback (not Kindle) and it's huge so it took me a while to read because I couldn't carry it around!

I really enjoyed this book, just like the first volume. Maybe a bit more because this volume dealt with the Nederlander, which holds a special place in my heart. I do wish there had been a bit more variety in terms of some of the actors talked too.
Sarah Catherine –
I enjoyed this one even more than the first volume, most likely because I have visited more of the theaters featured in this volume.
