It is a great for a child, but it's not just for children. It's a book for the whole family in any combination, or for any one of them alone over age ten. It's a book for parents. It's a book for teaching teamwork. It's a book for healthy eating. It is especially good for children because all of the recipes are simple and easy. It brings back some of the lost and forgotten food ideas which were routine a hundred years ago, such as making butter and making pickles. It's a book for parents. It's a book for teaching teamwork. It's a book for healthy eating. It is especially good for children because all of the recipes are simple and easy. It brings back some of the lost and forgotten food ideas which were routine a hundred years ago, such as making butter and making pickles. There is an excellent recipe for making your own sour-dough starter. There are fermentation and sprouting recipes. It's a book for everyone or anyone. This is a great family book. It is a combination story-book to sit down and read a recipe the night before as a bedtime story and later prepare. The story of food is embedded in the recipes. It explores much more about food and health and nutrition than just cooking. It is a teacher which clearly and simply explains good ideas about how and what to eat. The important principles of food preparation are in the recipes. The recipes are arranged so that children may work together as a team, each contributing to the recipe. And it's not just a cookbook-storybook. This cookbook is like a doctor. If "you are what you eat", then these recipes instill health into the body. The all-important process of preparing food, especially grains and beans, before cooking is in the recipes. The sacrifice of meat animals as a source of food is compassionately and thoughtfully presented. It is also good for any adult cook without children. There are many advanced ideas at the forefront of nutrition. This healthy way of cooking may become the future as more people discover the powerful effect of food on health. It's a foundation book for gourmet chefs as taste is brought to the tongue. Except for sugar, taste guides the tongue to healthy food. This cookbook de-emphasizes the sweet taste. There are plentiful beautiful illustrations on every page and they are all appealing and pleasing. There are excellent artistic colored pictures demonstrating all of the recipes and more. The art is so good, just leafing through the pages leaves a happy feeling. I love this book. It would be a wonderful gift for anyone. Good, easy, basic, simple, healthy cooking and the valuable recovery of forgotten basic foundations of cooking.
