This is really great for references because anytime I have to draw a guy I draw a blank for their clothing. I just only ever think of jeans and a shirt but she really finds ways to help make outfits pop and look unique.

I was hoping for a really in-depth book about men's fashion, but half of the book is devoted to face shape, body shape, etc. Still good content, though. My review from the first book fits too: Provides basic overviews of many things, and a slightly more in-depth look at clothing. I prefer the in-depth coverage of the second book, but this has a few tips that the others don't. it is great to have a book focusing on men and their fashion. most books focus on drawing feminine figures and clothes so much. the variations are great and I love the style of drawing.

Wow! I know it's weird to make that short, exclamatory sentence though this book deserves it. It really breaks down the majority of handling drawing unique male characters with personality. Personality all shown through their facial emotions, physical builds, fashion choices, and even the vehicles driven. The art book even details the ways of motion and element interaction with the characters. I even spotted some playful appearances of Thor, Loki, Walter White, Mythbusters's Jamie Hyneman, and S Wow! Truly a great step-by-step to take a rigidly-formed male character and give him some more anatomical accuracy, backstory, and flair. Also on a side note, I'm very happy there's a measure conversion chart in the back. The chart is very likely for the use of scaling images. My math has gone out the window as of usage so a big plus there!

I had high hopes for this one. I foresaw lots of the elaborate costumes manga heroes wear, long coats, vests, boots, and glorious pretty faces, but the style was all seriously not manga to me. Where were the big eyes? I appreciated that they gave diversity, lots of different ethnicities and people of diverse abilities, but where was the pretty? You could do pretty ethnicities, but I didn't find the art style attractive at all. It still had some good content, lots of facial expressions, but they w I had high hopes for this one. I actually do like this book and I wanted to give it a 3.5 star rating but we can't do that here and I really couldn't bring myself to give it the 4. This book is pretty good and does give a lot of good references for male clothing. But not as much as I'd hoped. A little too much of the book is dedicated more the expressions and situations as opposed to fashion. That's just an opinion, not a real dig at the book, and I still love it and would still recommend it to others. LOVE THIS BOOK! It's super helpful with clothes, which are one of the main things I struggle with. Thank you so much for this book--i'm sure all of my recent manga characters thank you too!
