I really liked Mr. Boonshaft's approach to this book. He writes in a very casual manner. I felt like I was having a conversation throughout most of the book instead of listening to a boring lecture. He's obviously passionate about what he does and he has several little gems of knowledge to share. I enjoyed the organization of the book and the new perspectives Mr. Boonshaft asked his readers to consider. The book was very much about perception, a nice break from this world's obsession with right and wrong answers. The book was a LOT more about conducting specifically than I originally anticipated, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Conducting is one of the things I am most concerned about, and Mr. Boonshaft presented several approaches and techniques to consider. I believe this will be an incredible asset and wonderful reference in my slowly-growing library of music education books.
