Here at last i ll still read old batman but i couldn't stay my hands from this promising run much longer. The current mystery is strong, the DNA under the victims nails matches dick grayson the current nightwing. His next target is bruce wayne let's see how this unfolds. I felt that Scott Snyder started out strong in his New 52 Batman re-boot and the Court of Owls cycle was interesting and extremely well-illustrated. I just think that after Vols 1-3, the ideas get a bit repetitive and the gore a bit too much. That being said, this first volume was really good.

The very first entry of the Batman superteam of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Very enjoyable read.

Here it is, the start of Snyder and Capullo's BATMAN run. As first issues go, it's very good. We meet Batman's/Bruce's inner circle (Dick Grayson, Gordon etc...), we get a few pages with a bunch of different villains, and we get Batman beginning the mystery that continues throughout The Court of Owls arc. I particularly like the first page, were Snyder and Capullo show us the Narrows, Wayne Tower and Arkham Asylum on one page. There are no captions to tell the reader what the buildings are, because they're not needed. It's clear thanks to Capullo's portrayal of the buildings and different class areas of Gotham. It's a good first issue, and one of the best of The New 52.

Though still a bit freaky and bloody at times, this is cleaner than usual for the more modern issues of The Caped Crusader's adventures. So, for that, I give it four stars. I love the art! Bruce looks particularly handsome, so does Dick. The villains and the background, really amazing. If we are going to talk about Gotham, we talk about the joker, two face, arkham and batman. And the obvious part betray. But that ending, that's ridiculous, impossible. Never. I love the art! I'm not a huge comic fan, but this was interesting I guess. We were introduced to the Court of Owls which is a big villian in the show "Gotham", which I am a big fan of, so that was cool. I know this was incredibly short, but I need to catch up on my reading challenge, so I don't care i'm counting it. I'm not a huge comic fan, but this was interesting I guess. I'm pretty sure I first read this nearly five years ago. It's a pretty good setup issue for New 52 era Batman, who has a great monologue about words that people have used to describe Gotham. The art isn't bad, but I do think it looks a little bit too dark in some places. I'm pretty sure I first read this nearly five years ago. A Batman with numerous versions of robin. Good color artwork, dc comics freebie. A relaunch of Batman with New technology. The big dream of rebuilding Gotham seems to occur about once a decade.

Este Primer Numero de Batman en los New 52 tiene un hermoso dibujo de Greg Capullo, sin duda ese momento que parece que Joker y batman pelean juntos contra los demas villanos es gracioso , dejo algo interesante para el siguiente número.

Every Saturday the Gotham Gazette includes a small lifestyles piece called “Gotham Is.” In the column, random Gothamites are asked to complete the sentence “Gotham is …” using three words or less. Here are some of the words used to describe Gotham in the past few weeks: “Damned.” “Cursed.” “Bedlam.” “Murderous …” Gotham is “villainous.” Gotham is “a losing game.” Gotham is “hopeless.” Once in a while, someone names one of the city’s villains as the answer to the “Gotham is” question. Usually it’s some kid, a teenager going for shock value. But now and then someone actually tries to make the argument that the city is best reflected in its villains. I seriously, for a moment, thought that batman was teaming up with The Joker and that shocked me, but oh wait, that was my precious Dick. He was so hilarious and serious about his characterization of the Joker, I loved it. I loved the writing of this one so much. Of course, one of the most common answers to the “Gotham is” question is “Batman.” Gotham is “Batman.” Gotham is “Batman’s city.” Gotham is “the Bat.” All answers I’m partial to, myself.

Who knew Bruce Wayne could be such a good motivational speaker? I am really loving the contrasts, here. When Bruce Wayne was being formal, introducing us to his "inside group" and world-building Gotham, the colours were vibrant and you could almost hear the classical music and strained small talk. It cut scenes to Bruce being Batman, flying in the sky surrounded by well bats and the world suddenly shifts. You get much darker tones, a whole new vibe. I'm new to DC, so therefore new to Batman (not just in comics, either, I don't think I've seen any of the movies).

I get these monthly but I'll review the collections as they come. So, see those. I wouldn't say there is anything new, exactly, in this version of Batman, but there is something to be said for focusing in on the things that make Batman great. As the story progresses, however, the bottom falls out for Batman and the reader as we find that something new was coming after all. I'm being vague on purpose to not give anything away--although its daft to think I need to review Batman for anyone out ther I get these monthly but I'll review the collections as they come. That was super entertaining! With ~30 pages, this issues was able to: 1) Introduce the main characters in an interesting way. 2) Lace in just enough humour to keep readers engaged. 3) Show readers some cool tech Batman uses. Next level Google Glass, anyone? 4) Set-up the plot in the next issues in an effective manner. Overall, I can see why Batman (V2) has been the most well-received New 52 of them all. On to #2!

This is good I am not a dc fan. But dc has stepped up the game with their 52 series where the superhero of old come back be for superheroes didn't kill or allow the villain to die. They have grit something they lacked before with I appreciate and have always appreciated. so trust me this owl society comic is really good. Take the time and read it. Amazing art by Greg Capullo and beautiful writing by Scott Snyder. It's definitely the best series of the new 52. I love stories where Bruce is portrayed as too cocky and arrogant, and this is no exception. Bruce thinks he owns Gotham, but when a group of villains appear to challenge that idea, it shocks him to the core. Never underestimate your enemy. Really enjoyed Capullo's art & style. Loved the Owl villian design; enjoyed the part where you see the Wayne family similarities in the paintings & different time periods & when you see the different hideouts of the Owl villians.

Just when I thought Batman couldn't get any darker...the New 52 surprised me. Glad I overcame my reluctance and started reading the reboot finally. Just hope that the series doesn't lose the tautness and the grind. Just when I thought Batman couldn't get any darker...the New 52 surprised me.
