3.50 stars An improvement on the first book to be sure. I still had moments of wtf, but fewer. I was more invested in these characters too. I absolutely loved the adventure and totally saw this in an rpg light (tank, dps, support and healer). Because of that, my rating is higher. The end was too angsty and drawn out for me.

I write this review after reading this story as the 2nd in "The MacLomain Series - The earl Years". When highland enemies become lovers, there's true magic in the air This Iosbail's and Alexander Sinclair's tale. How they overcame a plot to bring down Alexander, and in the end find true love. A very fast paced story, well worth the read. I write this review after reading this story as the 2nd in "The MacLomain Series - The earl Years". I remember when I read the first book in the MacLomain Early Years and how confused I was. It wasn't until I read several of Diana Gabaldon's books that it started to make sense. Do I see any correlation between PURINGTON and GABALDON? No. It just helped me understand things better. I remember when I read the first book in the MacLomain Early Years and how confused I was. I love historical fiction and a good love story doesn’t hurt. Sky Puritan puts together another easy read with especially delightful characters. She includes time travel, devotion to family and clan and wizards and of course an unexpected true love story.

I just finished this book. It was the 2nd in this set of the Early Years and I found it to be very interesting and I enjoyed reading it very much. I will be starting the next one in this series.

A Highland romance always brightens my mood. Historical romances are always my go to genre when I want a romance fix and rarely have I been disappointed and this is a nice example of how a Highland romance should be written. I really enjoyed her writing style and the way that she pieced Alexander and Iosbail's romance together in a relatively short novel since it's only 180 pages. The characters were very well written. Isobail was pretty much everything I like in a heroine. She was a strong, independent and intelligent woman who knew what she wanted and was determined to get it at all costs. Alexander was the same way. I really enjoyed how alike the two characters were beneath the surface and I loved the passion that they had for each other. The plot was good and I was glad that it was still a fun read but actually had more substance behind the actual story than I expected and I loved that it offered more than just a sexy romp in the highlands. Overall, there was very little that I didn't like about Highland Persuasion and it was a good, quick read that really fit my mood at the time. The characters and the story were well developed and while this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone novel. After reading this book I am absolutely going to get my hands on book one and I hope to enjoy it as much as I did this one and I love the sense of adventure and the romance between the two characters a lot. I would recommend this to all the historical romance fans who love their highlanders and strong heroines. This would be a perfect beach read or a book to read outside on a sunny afternoon and would be relatively easy to polish off in one sitting. *I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my free and honest review. I have been reading a lot of historical fiction lately – specifically Highlander book series. I have kind of become fascinated with mysteriously sexy men in kilts with Scottish brogue. With her sights set on Alexander Sinclair and claiming what she feels is rightfully hers, she manipulates whoever she needs to in order to get the job done. Iosbail is a strong, independent female not willing to back down to anyone. Alexander (the Highlander of my dreams) has strength of his own, as well as enemies intent on taking him down. The two must work together to not only stay alive but to also overcome the animosity between themselves. This was a quick, fun story. I had not read the previous MacLomain series or Highlander Defiance (Early Years #1), but I had no trouble keeping up with this story. The author did an excellent job of introducing everyone so I knew who was who. After reading this one, though, I did purchase the first book to read as well. Yay for more sexy kilts and Scottish brogue! I received this book free from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

My real rating is 2 1/2 stars. The extra half star is just out of kindness. I honestly thought it was never going to end and prepared for another DNF book in my list. But I finished it, please don't ask the reason. Then I deleted it. My real rating is 2 1/2 stars. The extra half star is just out of kindness.
