I loved the first two books in this series and was eagerly awaiting book 3 to find out more of Brent Harrington who is mentioned in the previous books. I loved his personality, his character, the attitude adjustment he has when a particular aide comes to his house and more! It is a wonderful book ending this series by Patrice Wilton! Brent was wounded in the war. He has lost his sight but the doctors say it isn't permanent and that when he is ready to see again he will, hopefully! However, he is struggling daily while being blind and from the love/support of his friend Shane, gets a home health aide. Little does he know despite not liking this aide and not needing help..he comes to rely on her and enjoy her company. Yet, he can tell there is apprehension, fear and more from her and wants to try to help her. Each day, little by little the aide, Natalie is breaking down his walls and is showing him to live again. Natalie has a horrible past. She is about to go overseas but is waiting on her passport. Until then she needs a job.She applies for a job and Shane hires her to be an aide for Brent. However, Brent never asked for one or knew he was getting one.. so he is quite rude to her. However, she doesn't take his crap and tells him so. She is starting to realize she enjoys his company and the seeing eye dog comes into the home as well. Brent is starting to show her little by little that not all men are as bad as her ex! These two are wonderful to watch! Their interaction from the moment they meet each other is hilarious! It's like Shane knew he was playing matchmaker the moment he hired Natalie! I enjoyed their banter, whit, slow process to take each other in, helping one another, their compassion, growing to love/accept and enjoy the company of one another, the protectiveness they each had over the other and more! I enjoyed seeing the other characters in this book as well. I loved the interaction of Shane, his wife and Natalie and Brent as well. I just loved their interaction and support they both received from both of them. It was truly wonderful, but can it last when the one person Natalie is trying to get away from finds her? Can she allow Brent to get hurt or will she move on once she knows something could happen? Can she stay or will she go and then hurt the one person she loves more than anything? I loved the book! I truly did. I'm happy for how the book ended the way it did! I feel it might have been a bit rushed sort of in my opinion but enjoyed extremely overall! If you have read the first two books in this series or even if you haven't you will fall in love with Patrice's characters, their love, banter, humor, fights, loss and more while reading her books in this series! Well done! I received a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review!

I borrowed At First Sight from the Kindle Unlimited Program. At First Sight is the third book in the anthology called Wounded Warriors ~ 2 Book Set. In At First Sight both Brent Harrington and his caregiver Natalie Conner's are facing a crisis situation and working to find peace and recover from difficulties and move forward to a productive and happy life. Brent was wounded when his helicopter crashed into a mountain in the Middle East while serving in the Army on a rescue mission. He has lost his sight and only sees a gray fog; he is angry at the world and only wants to be left alone. His best friend finds Natalie to be his companion and Brent's world changes quickly when she will not put up with his attitude and lip. Natalie is on the run from her ex-boyfriend, the controlling cop Karl. She is in California to hide from his abuse and find a way to a new positive life without fear. At First Sight is emotional, full of ups and downs and a confrontation where both Brent and Natalie face their fears and finally a happy ending. Wounded Warriors was a great series and the stories honor the sacrifices made by our brave service men and their families and show not only the problems but the triumphs when a problem is overcome with the help of great organizations that support our Wounded Warriors that return home and need help and recognition.

I won this book from Goodreads. I was very glad to win this book, because it sounded very good. The story was intriquing about real life issues. The topics of returning disabled vets and domestic violence were both used to enhance the story. These topics were not extensive or indepth but this did not detract from the book. The romance was good with a twist of a slight thriller. I enjoyed reading this book and agree with most reviewers who said it was a page turner that I did not want to put down I won this book from Goodreads. This is evidenced by the fact I read it in one day. I would love to read another book by this author. Since I liked this book you may wonder why I gave it only 4 stars. I was immediately put off and almost stopped reading at the language in the first few pages of the book. Unseemly language adds nothing to the literature and in fact detracts from it. Thankfully this language did not continue throughout the book. I believe the use of foul language demohstrates a lack of imagination, it is possible to get your point across without this language. Along the same line the graphic sexual content made this book not one I would reccomend to my family or children despite the fact the story was quite good.

Their characters were developed nicely - I could visualize both of them and their circumstances very well. Their romance developed with all kinds of ups and downs along the way and I especially liked the ending of the book. I also like the parts of the book that talk about the Wounded Warriors programs.

So much wrong, on so many levels For the first half of the book, nothing happens. The 2 main characters are in the same house, living together feeling sorry for themselves. Not exciting. She doesn't want a relationship with him, yet she continues to flirt and be suggestive. Her reasons for not wanting a relationship has nothing to do with ethics, but everything to do with her own selfish wants and needs (leaving for France and doesn't want to end up heartbroken). Natalie is too wishy washy in what she wants, and I am not impressed with her telling lies to cover other lies that only put everyone in danger. It's Aaron shame, the author had a great concept for a story and royally blew it.

    * I won a free copy of this book through Goodreads First Reads Giveaway Program. * This was a good, quick read, and a very predictable read. The reader was able to guess the next step in the plot throughout each chapter. Don't get me wrong, it was a good book, but one that a reader has seen before. This was my first serial romance through Amazon and I must admit I loved looking forward to the next installment. This was also the first time reading any works by Patrice Wilton. I really enjoyed this story between Brent and Natalie. I loved watching them try to overcome their struggles. This story had a romance as well as some suspense which made it perfect read. This book is now complete so I recommend picking it up!

So I entered a giveaway of this book and won. It was a christmas present for my mom and when it arrived she started reading it that night needless to say she couldn't put it down. She was up till one in the morning reading till my dead came out and had her go to bed. She finished it the next day happily. By how fast she read it I can't wait to read it myself. She says it "exiting, sweet, relatable, lovley, romantic, and easy to not want to put down." So I entered a giveaway of this book and won. I won a free copy of this book through Goodreads First Reads Giveaway. This was a very quick and easy read that I finished in one day. Even though I enjoyed the story line and chemistry between the characters, I found the plot a little predictable which is why I did not give it 5 stars. Fantastic book about spousal abuse and finding happiness with another Wilton has written a compelling book about spousal abuse, escaping from it to find another job that kept her secret from others. One can never escape the memories unless they find another one who needs them more. Great Book.

I LOVED this one too! The Jake, Shane, and Brent stories have been my favorites. It is not just the love story that gets you but also the characters personal journeys they are going through individually. They want to be these strong individuals but they need someone to lean on while they gain that strength.

A gem of a story The setup of this story is different from most stories. Natalie, escaping an abusive guy, hides out in California. She is hired to assist a blind veteran, who is not adjusting well. The story develops from there, in a well-written manner. A very enjoyable read.

I absolutely loved this book,up until the end. I feel like the end was brushed over. There just wasn't enough there. I felt like the epilogue should have had a chapter before it or something. I won this book from Goodreads.com A fantastic love story that is well-written. It also deals with some of the issues that some vets deal with after they return safely home. I only wish the ending had been a bit more substantial. Overall, I would say this book is 4.5 stars.

I enjoyed reading this story: very romantic, a lot of action, some interesting character development. The two main characters could be a bit annoying sometimes, but overall the chemistry between them was very palpable and romantic. A nice romance novel for those who like love stories.

good It was a good novel, just a little too unrealistic at the very end. With out giving too much away, The author put so much into building the plot, and then to quickly finish the story at the end was disappointing.

Good Story It goes through the entire story with a remarkable energy of secrets, conflict, and love. Then in the Epilogue it's as though the author is in a hurry to wrap things up and it becomes foolish. An excellent book until the end.
