Refreshing to get the comic strip in order and not just the publisher's favorite ones. Refreshing to get the comic strip in order and not just the publisher's favorite ones.

I was given the Complete Calvin and Hobbes four-book set, recently. While we don't have that specific set in the library, we do have all the individual books it contains. Calvin and Hobbes was and is my absolute favorite comic strip of all time. Sometimes it's not great to revisit the things of your youth. You risk wondering what you ever saw in things you remember loving and spoiling childhood memories that will never feel as nostalgic again. Sometimes it's not great to revisit the things of your youth. You risk wondering what you ever saw in things you remember loving and spoiling childhood memories that will never feel as nostalgic again. But I am happy to report Calvin and Hobbes is as wonderful as it has ever been, and I have been enjoying it even more sharing it with my own children. It's clever, wildly creative and funny enough that anyone who can read from cover to cover without cracking a smile is probably someone I'd be scared to meet in a dark alley. From deranged snow sculptures, to facing off with a sadistic babysitter, to the continuing adventures of Spaceman Spiff, what's not to love?

I absolutely love Calvin and Hobbes. I grew up reading all of these comics over and over again. It was very nostalgic to sit down with this volume and it brought up a lot of old memories. I am very excited to make my way through the rest of the volumes.

I was logging the completely wrong collection haha Earlier log - 'A coworker lent me all 4 books in the calvin & hobbes collection and I thought I'd be able to fly through it but its actually taking me some time haha! Plus I've struggled over when you read comics, do you look at the picture first and then read the speech bubble, or read the speech bubble and then look at the picture??? This is a legit problem I've had!' This comic strip is super cute and Calvin has a serious imagination, his parents need to put him in acting classes (if only he could memorize lines and not get stuck in his costume) and Hobbes is super adorable, especially in plushy form! His parents need to give Calvin more credit honestly!

Calvin is my all time favorite comic book. I loved it then because it didn’t feel either too boyish or girly. It was a little boy who was much more imaginative and intelligent than we ever were his age, and Calvin speaks about ecology, environment, a bit of politics, history, science, and so on. I laughed out loud so many times and felt the urge to share the comic stripes every now and then to my friends because I felt like I could relate even though I’m 25. I love Calvin & Hobbes! I enjoyed the introduction by the author/artiest Bill Watterson. It's the first of three. I plan on reading them all! It's fun rereading Calvin and Hobbes as am adult. Get a totally different perspective then as a child! Enjoy! I love Calvin & Hobbes! I enjoyed the introduction by the author/artiest Bill Watterson. It's the first of three. If Calvin is Bill Watterson, then his parents were mean as hell. Or at least that's how he remembers them. If Calvin is Bill Watterson, then his parents were mean as hell. Or at least that's how he remembers them.

I have always loved Calvin and Hobbes. When the comics were originally published in the newspaper they were the first thing I read whenever I picked up a paper. Never missed a Calvin and Hobbes.

It'll have to wait until my stepfamily gets everything unpacked in the new house, since the set is actually my stepmom's. :) It'll have to wait until my stepfamily gets everything unpacked in the new house, since the set is actually my stepmom's. :)
