She rushes to end her call with her best-friend Liz to call professor Clancy. He then states that he indeed has a lead on a test subject for her amnesia thesis there is just one hitch. "There's one hitch though." -Professor Clancy "What's that?" -Ashlyn "He's under arrest for a murder he has no recollection of committing." -Professor Clancy Determined to not be deterred by his legal status Ashlyn rolls full steam ahead deciding to meet with John Doe. When Ashlyn meets her test subject she is instantly attracted to his sleeping form laying peacefully asleep; with nothing but a sheet to cover his nudity. Once he awakens and she tells him why she is there. After all the hope drops from his face that maybe she is a clue to his past. She rethinks her strategy along with her questions she prepared for him. She takes a more personable approach and decides to go with a simple route. Polite conversation. She offers him breakfast hoping the change of environment would stimulate a memory. He declines. After more conversation Ashlyn notices how tired he looks an tells him that he should get some rest and that she'll be back tomorrow. Time passes and no memories surface. Since he is nameless and she prefers to not call him by the cliche of John Doe, they decide on Logan. A name he has tattooed on his arm. The only clues to Logan's past is his tattoo's and the discovery that he can paint. Well not just paint the guy is an artist. He paints an accurate portrait of a face he has seen in his dreams. A face that is most likely from his past. A face that causes worry and jealousy in Ashlyn. Because even though her and her patient have fought the sparks of electricity that ignites whenever they're in the same room. Even though everything known about him so far screams "DANGER DANGER RUUUUNNNN!" And even when he voices his concerns and fears that his past can hurt her...It all falls on the lust of death ears. They both succumb to the passion they feel for one another. Ashlyn falls for Logan. A guy with no true identity until a clue surfaces from a very unexpected source. A clue that brings Ashlyn total devastation. A clue that unravels her. Thoughts I loved it! The scene at the end with Liz?! BEST ENDING EVAH!! Logan/Aiden was a delectable treat that I could not get enough of. I want more of him. MORE MORE MORE!!!! I need to know if he will ever remember his former life? Did he really remember his dreams, and was just saying he didn't to Ashlyn? What really went down in that warehouse??? Not sure if these questions will ever be answered and in a sense I kinda like the secrecy that surrounds Aiden and that fateful day in the warehouse. Fave Line -My fave line comes from Liz she is Ashlyn's best friend and she kept me laughing throughout the whole book! "Damn. You let him put that whole thing inside you?" She asked, eyeing his still hard cock. My Ratings Characters- Likable Writing Style- Sexy, Savory, Clever Plot/Storyline- Edge of your seat, what is going to happen next!?!Good! Steam Factor- High/Very Steamy Overall- I absolutely loved it!!! Read it! Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on Goodreads!

I hate giving poor reviews, but this book really didn't do it for me. The premise was interesting and I had reasonably high expectations going into the book. However, this book turned out to be a huge disappointment. (1) The timeline made no sense. NONE! Were weeks going by? Months? I have no clue. (2) She fast forwarded through the first few weeks (at least I think it was a few weeks) of the main characters' friendship, so it's impossible to see how their feelings developed for one another. (2) She fast forwarded through the first few weeks (at least I think it was a few weeks) of the main characters' friendship, so it's impossible to see how their feelings developed for one another. We're just TOLD that they have this connection, instead of getting to witness it for ourselves. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. (3) People who are homeless and don't have even a single change of clothes do not smell like AFTERSHAVE!! The heroine even lists the hero's meager belongings, and aftershave is not among them. I think the author did this to build up the illusion that he looked like a walking cologne ad. (4) She kept referring to a thesis and a thesis proposal as the same thing. They're not the same thing and it's impossible to finish a Phd thesis and have it published in just a few weeks...which is what apparently happened. I could continue to list more inconsistencies and errors in this book, but I'll stop myself now. Well, at least the sex scenes were hot, albeit they were too short for me to consider this to be an erotic story. Apparently the guy is packing a python in his pants. I guess that's the only saving grace of this story. I do not recommend it to readers unless you enjoy being TOLD what to feel by an author. I developed no attachment to the characters and the ending made no sense to me. (view spoiler)[ He left her twice and with little to no explanation she just agrees to marry him?????? That makes no sense to me. (hide spoiler)] I've read erotic short stories before where the story is just window dressing between sex scenes, but this book wasn't erotic, so I don't think the author is allowed the same liberties. I think she has the potential for a really great story here if she could just flesh things out a bit more. (view spoiler)[ She took a huge risk by developing an attachment to a possible criminal and inviting him into her home. Even her best friend thought what she was doing was crazy. I can understand making seemingly crazy decisions if you feel a powerful connection with someone, but since I couldn't believe their connection, I thought she was too forgiving when he walked out on her and silly for inviting him to live with her and sleeping with him before they could resolve anything about his past. (hide spoiler)] Addition to review 9/26/12 After some more reflection, I do really think the author has a lot of potential, since the premise really is quite clever and she does write great steamy scenes. Even though I didn't like this book too much, I would try reading something else she writes in the future. I just hope she doesn't rush things next time! Please take the time to develop the characters!

“Aut viam inveniam aut faciam tibi. I will either find a way or make one.” Oh, those three star reviews... I really did like this book, mainly for the somewhat unused idea of a male lead with complete amnesia. And the name Logan tattooed on him. I thought the fact that Ashlyn was a student headed for a PhD and writing her thesis on amnesia sort of fell by the wayside after it was used as an excuse for them to meet. There really wasn't a lot of it in the story. I thought the little twist toward the end was a great surprise and oh, so angsty! Seriously...that's what was going on? What a great OMG moment (view spoiler)[ when we figure out who Logan really is. (hide spoiler)] The most enjoyable part of this story is how Logan gets to learn all over again how to live and what he loves. He gets to look at the world and everything in it with fresh eyes, untainted by sadness or hate or prejudice. “Logan, with no memory of his own life was teaching me how to live in the moment and enjoy mine." I must be a bit immune to super sexy steamy scenes because I really don't see this a being all that erotic. There were a couple of somewhat descriptive love scenes but to me, erotic means that sex takes over much of the page time and that was definitely not the case here. There was a lot of story. All centered around how Logan and Ashlyn have this somewhat taboo relationship. I was surprised that more fuss wasn't made about how she, a student, became involved with him, a suspected murderer with amnesia. That seems to be quite the faux pas, but no one really seemed to mind all that much. A very enjoyable read, just not a huge standout among the hundreds like it. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a great job. I will likely continue the series, as I liked this author's voice.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I have liked the character of Ashlyn. She is strong enough to love a person who, she knows, can not be hers and courageous enough to let her lover go to do the right thing. I have also liked the character of Logan. Because, he is honest and truly loves Ashlyn as he does not promise her a false future with him without being sure what is veiled in his past. I have liked the book.

"He was a mystery to unravel, a puzzle I desperately wanted to solve." I have to say that I was so excited to have this book come out early (to stare at the sexy cover in my hands) and I took a few hours out of my day to read it. What a great debut from Kendall Ryan. She brings to the table a different take on an erotic novel. Adding the psychological issue of Dissociated Amnesia to the story doesn't make it a thriller but does bring you to your seat trying to figure out what happened. Adding the psychological issue of Dissociated Amnesia to the story doesn't make it a thriller but does bring you to your seat trying to figure out what happened. "Going through with that was like admitting I was nothing, a nameless, faceless nobody. With nothing to my name and nobody who even cares. It was too much." Ashlyn Drake is a PhD student working on her thesis on amnesia when an opportunity for a research subject falls in her lap. When she walks in Room 304 and encounters her "subject" we get a mighty introduction to John Doe who we later get to know as "Logan." Logan's story is interesting, dark and mysterious. While we travel down the road to discovery with him we learn his hidden talents; most that involve his hands and not his ability to cook or paint. Uh huh, THAT kind of talent. Sigh. "Logan, with no memory of his own life was teaching me how to live in the moment and enjoy mine." This was a sexy short read for the afternoon. The steam was just the right temperature and though I had many scenarios regarding Logan's amnesia they were never proven to be correct. Kudos to the author for keeping me on my toes and guessing with every turn of the page. And now because I am greedy... What I want to say about this is! I wanted MORE! More of Ashlyn and her history. More of the time spend with Logan in the hospital working out his amnesia issues. I wanted to see sessions; feel the tension, the attraction and the resolve begin to unravel between them. The time passed rather quickly and this could have been the occasion to give the relationship, both professional and personal time to develop. I get the initial attraction I just wanted to feel it down to my core! Giving Logan amnesia lent to many different scenarios that could have been played out. Though I liked the ending it felt rushed and I would have liked to see them start to feel each other out and really get down to what this strong pull was. I wanted to see more interaction with Professor Clancy and Ashlyn; to see her really wrestle with the feelings she was developing and the possible repercussions on her career. I would have loved to get Logans POV as well as he struggled with not knowing who he was. I enjoyed this story and have total faith that the author has the talent to pull raw emotions out of the reader and they were just at the surface waiting to happen. I look forward to more from Ms. Ryan and know that she will continue to grow and knock my sock (or panties) off with her writing.

Author succeded in creating intriguing atmospehere with plenty of suspence and while reading this book, I had absolutely no idea how it would all end. And I really love such unexpected stories. Ashley, the main character, narrator and psychology student didn't know a lot about her thesis subject Logan, the man with amnesia. Contrary to her rational thinking, Ashley developed more than appropriate relationship with her "patient", mainly because of extremely strong sexual chemistry that the two of them shared from the very begining. And very soon she became obsessed with him, thinking way too much about him, feeling way to attached to him. After Logan was released from hospital, things got very interesting, story turned quick pace and it was really hard to put the book down since I wanted to know more and more about Logan and his past. I expected to see more of their patient vs. doctor sessions and to see more deeper into the amnesia topic. The idea of falling for guy with amnesia and possibility that one day he will remember his past life and leave was quite scary from emotional point of view but very interesting for me as reader. So obviously I wanted this story to be a bit longer and more extensive. Otherwise, I don't have any objections. Unravel Me is a promising debut by Kendall Ryan and I will definitely keep an eye on her next books in future.

4.25 Stars!! I really like Kendall Ryan so even though this is one of her older books I wanted to read it and I truthfully wasn’t expecting much since the rating was so low but I really liked it. I found it to be a very different and interesting storyline. Ashlyn Drake is a Psych student doing research for her thesis which is about amnesia. The journey that these two characters take together and separately is so fascinating and their chemistry is red hot!

The attraction between these two is immediate! The characterization was good, and the plot was tight. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fast paced and very sexy, steamy HOT read.

I had pretty high expectations going into this book. First off, the cover is lovely. I’m a sucker for a good-looking cover and have been known to actually buy a book based on a great one. Secondly, the premise of this book sounded so cool. A Psychology student looking for a thesis subject who gets a chance to observe and interview an amnesia patient who is accused of murder… they are drawn together and even while carrying on a sexual relationship they try to unravel his past. HELLO, doesn’t that just sound awesome? I just wish the promise of it could have carried through to the story. My main issue is with the heroine, Ashlyn. I really did not like her. At all. She got on my nerves with her stupid decisions and wishy washiness. Before she even meets Logan, the amnesia patient, she is given his circumstances, which include him being found at an abandoned warehouse standing over a man who had been beaten to death AND that he has attacked an orderly already. So what does she do? This super smart graduate student who is working toward her PhD tells the Doctor treating this patient that she wants to be in the room with him alone, because you know, she can take care of herself. Okayyyyy. Then after that too stupid to live decision, after discovering he is lying there all NAKED with just a sheet covering his groin, she tells the orderly who enters the room to uncuff him. So now she is alone in a room with a uncuffed man who all she knows about is that he can’t remember any of his past, was found standing over a man who the cops assume he beat to death and has already been violent while being in the hospital. That was the start of what was an extremely frustrating read for me. The whole getting to know you part of the book, while she is visiting Logan in the hospital, is kind of just alluded to. You don’t actually get to see any interaction between them. Then one day she is coming home to change to go out and she kind of runs into Logan on the street. He has been cleared of all charges and has checked himself out of the hospital. So what does this smart cookie do? Hmmm? She invites him up to her pad to stay with her. She then throws herself at him repeatedly, they tell each other they “can’t” get involved, they contradict each other, Ashlyn gets drunk and tries to stick her hand down his pants. About six thousand times. Eventually they have sex. It’s really, really good sex because Logan has a huge peen and they can’t keep their hands off each other. That’s about it. I really didn’t feel any emotion from them for each other. I didn’t connect to either character. I felt like the author was telling me how they felt for each other, but I never actually believed it. I think if more of the story had taken place in the hospital, if we had been able to witness them falling for each other and how that happened, maybe their relationship would have been more believable to me. The first person POV didn’t do it for me either. I didn’t care for Ashlyn, so having the entire story come from her point of view really didn’t work for me. I also went into this thinking this was an erotic contemporary romance, I didn’t see this as erotica. They have sex several times, but not to the point that it was an erotic romance. I see that there are quite a few other people who really loved this story. Lots of four and five stars. It just didn’t live up to my expectations. Favorite Quote: He gazed into my eyes and stroked my bottom lip lovingly with his thumb. “Mine,” he whispered. “Yes, yours. Only yours. Always.”

Oh, I didn't like that book. It frustrated me actually. The blurb was so interesting and that is why I chose to read it: Psychology student Ashlyn Drake finds a perfect subject for her amnesia thesis – a young man without any memory of his previous life, including the murder he’s accused of committing! That could have been a marvelous book if it had been written well. But no, it sounded as if it was rushed, it lacked depth and it lacked reason and sanity for me... First of all, the writer didn't write the parts about how they were connected, how their attraction grew and how they started to fall for each other. We are just told that weeks passed and they had a connection! Sorry, if you tell me what I need to feel, I can't; you have to make me feel their connection and if you fast forward these weeks and just tell me that he means more than a test subject for her and he has developed an obsession about her, I can't feel anything and I didn't. I needed to witness those sessions, I needed to read the dialogues. But no, they were non-existent! Secondly, it was all focused about their lust and passion, or whatsoever... I didn't feel anything during those, either -maybe because I couldn't relate to the characters... Thirdly, after a while, people came from his past, revealing facts about who he was and we still didn't witness any dialogues between him and the woman from his past. And again, we were told about these facts in indirect speech while he was explaining or summarizing it to Ashlyn! What am I supposed to feel ? If boredom was targeted, well, bingo! Finally, I can't make peace with the ending at all... (view spoiler)[He still doesn't seem to remember his past and therefore his feelings for the other woman. And he decides to marry Ashlyn. Wow ! ? He can remember any time. We just don't know when he will remember and what will happen then. (Are we supposed to think he will never remember?) The woman's name was a tattoo on his wrist, which makes me think that if he remembers, he may again feel something for her. And the biggest problem is that he seems to have killed that man by beating. No other explanation, no proof or anti-proof is given. They assume so... Well, the thought of a guy (no matter how hot he is) who can beat a man (even if he is a drug dealer threatening his girlfriend) to death irritates me. However, Ashlyn didn't seem to bother that at all... (hide spoiler)] Oh, well, again, I don't want to dwell on it much more - it just was an annoying reading experience for me and I have told you my reasons...

Really, nothing gets me more excited than a story with a different spice than any other book I have read has had. A woman meets a man with amnesia that has been charged with murder...sign me up! I really enjoyed Kendall Ryan's writing style; it was smooth and, at times, witty. The characters were well-developed and the story so intense that I wasn't ready for it to end. Ashlyn seems to live a pretty boring life up until the point she meets "Logan". In my opinion, she has tried so hard to not be her father, she stopped living life to the fullest. Yes, she is a smart girl who will soon have a doctorate but the girl seriously needs to put the fun back in her personal life. I liked her independence and even though her childhood sounded less than ideal, she wasn't overly damaged or needy. She seemed more than willing to accept any love she was given but wasn't always assertive enough to take what she needed. "Logan" is sweet, gentle and caring but he also has alpha tendencies. Let me be honest here..I love when a man is jealous without being JEALOUS and that is what he was. He could take control of things but he always put Ashlyn's feelings before his own which made him even more appealing. I can't imagine how scary it would be to one day not know my name or anything about my past. It was obvious that this was eating him up and his uncertainty left him feeling unworthy of Ashlyn and his feelings for her. Did he really kill someone? Did he have a family he couldn't remember? Really, would he ever be able to remember is past and, if he did, what would it do to his friendship and feelings for Ashlyn. There was so much passion between the two and one may be inclined to say that "Logan" was drawn to Ashlyn because she was kind to him when everyone else saw him as a criminal but I did not lose sight on what a great human being "Logan" was. Even if he was not a great person pre-amnesia (I am not saying he was or wasn't:)), he is completely swoon-worthy now! Ashlyn didn't seem to have many friends outside of her best friend, Liz, and I think these were two lonely individuals who fit together perfectly, amnesia or no amnesia! This book certainly had some surprises! Just when I thought a piece of the mystery that was "Logan" had been put into place, there would be another twist. If I could change one thing, I would make the book a little longer and expand on certain areas like "Logan's" time in the hospital and other parts that I won't specify because I don't want to let the cat out of the bag! Kendall Ryan is a great writer and if I could have just held onto the various emotions that went through the characters and then to me, this probably would have been an easy five. I cannot wait to read more from this author! Overall, this is a great book for anyone looking for a distinctly different story line that features some mystery, crazy hot chemistry and a man who will make you drool!

OMG . so hot , its sooo hot in here . I was too excited to read this book , probably from the day I landed my eyes on its cover ! And the blurb just sky rocketed my desire and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it . A big thank you to Kendall for releasing this early ! You the best !!! * Cue * Collide - Utopia Unravel me is the story of Ashlyn , a psychology student who is working on her thesis which deals with Amnesia . She finds the perfect test subject in Logan , a man who cant remember his past life and is being held accountable for a murder he doesn't remember committing . Logan is unlike any other man Ashlyn has met before . Their attraction to each other is almost instant and they somehow seem to find solace in each others presence . Who is Logan ?? Is that even his real name ?? Is he really the murderer or just a victim of an end gone wrong ? Is he bad guy or the good guy ?? All these questions were haunting my mind and I knew I had to get the answers as soon as I could . And if you want answers to those questions too , then you should get yourself a copy .. SIMPLE !!! ;) Things I loved about this book : The characters were all freakin amazing !!! Ashlyn , well in the beginning she comes across someone who is a tad bit broken on the inside yet manages to pull up a straight face and hold her chin up high like there's no bringing her down ! I loved her confidence at times . And her interactions with Logan were sexy , sweet and a little bitter at times too . I loved how she got insecure and the constant worrying about what was going to happen to her and Logan's relationship when he would finally remember things tugged my heart a little too . I mean falling in love with a guy who doesnt remember anything about himself let alone the life he has lived could be a lot stressful . Logan , on the other hand was one hot son of a gun !! Good lord , with that perfect body and tattoo covered arms he could easily melt your panties down ! And don't even get me started on the whole dirty talking , that he seems to specialize in !!!! Telling someone you want to 'fuck them real bad and make him/her come ' can be a little too on the 'Ewww' side , but it does't even come close to being gross if Logan says that . Nope , no way on the freakin planet . It'll just probably make you go all breathless and pant and moan and writhe all at the same time in anticipation of whats to come !!! *Drooool* I wouldn't mind becoming a drooling sex addict for this guy .. Nope .. Nope... Nopepity .. Nope ! I loved Ashlyn best friends , Liz as well . She was that sassy freind you need at times to make life a little better and fun ! The sex was out of the charts hot , straight out of an oven !!! Kendall really knows how to sex up a scene with all the hotness that she can give it !!! Right from describing Ashlyn's initial thoughts when she first meets Logan , to Logan's ultimate confession about what or should I say how he feels about Ashlyn ever since he first met her can make you go all , " AWWWWWWW " to " Oh god , its hot in here !!! I want Ice packs ,or atleast a B.O.B right now " ! I would love to read more from her !! Cant wait to see what else she's got in store for her readers !!! My only complain , the book was just tooo short ! I wanted to read more about Ashlyn and Logan . Probably a little more in depth about the connection that made Ashlyn and Logan's relationship all that it was and what it turned out to be ! On the whole , a 4.5 star rating from me to this uniquely awesome yet strangely satisfying debut novel !

There is just something missing, some parts felt unfinished and left unsaid, especially when it comes to the background of the main characters. I felt that we were given only pieces, but mostly left in the dark about some important information, considering both plot and characters. The beginning was kind of shaky. It has lots of ups and downs and lots of me *eye-rolling* at some parts which I consider totally unnecessary and illogical and there were some grammar and plot mistakes. “I trust you.” “If you knew what I thought about….you wouldn't trust me.” My heart strummed in my chest. “What do you think about?” “All the things I want to do to you, but can’t.” What really bothered me was the lack of character development, especially the main female character Ashlyn. She started off as a strong and intelligent young woman, but as the story progressed she turned out to be just the opposite and her behavior really started to annoy me in the second half of the book. Even the main male character Aiden didn't impress me that much except, of course, his physical appearance. I could understand his worries and insecurities, because he had amnesia, but at some point it just felt that he was manipulating and using her and he was using his state to cover that and what really annoyed me is that she let him do that with no objections. I'm just not a fan of weak, naive and immature characters with no attitude. I mean, who is? There were some interesting and fun parts that I enjoyed and the hot scenes weren't that bad, but as I said they need improvement. I considered giving it 3 stars, but the ending of the book which again felt rushed and left many things undone decided it for me. I think that this book would appeal to readers who are beginners when it comes to this genre and who don't spend much time reading as I do. Considering all the great books I read so far I can't give it more than 2/2.5 stars. I knew him better than anyone. I knew he was kind, and sweet, and hard working. And that he liked steamed milk in his coffee and that if I was ever in a trivia game involving history questions, I’d make damn sure he was on my team. I knew that he made me incredibly hot, and nothing would change my mind about wanting to be with him.

The circumstances in which he was found were such that he needs to be handcuffed. However, Ashlyn works out that he is fact harmless and she feels safe around him. John Doe has no recollection of what led him to be in the hospital and he no memories of his life at all. Ashlyn nicknames him Logan as he has the name tattooed on his arm. As Ashlyn tries to help trigger Logan’s memory with things like trying different food or listening to different songs a bond forms between them. They both look forward to her daily visits. When Logan finds himself having to fend for himself, Ashlyn comes to his rescue, offering a place to stay and it also gives her the opportunity to gather more information for her thesis. Things begin to change between them and the undeniable attraction and pull is getting hard to resist. Logan is worried that there could be a girlfriend, wife or family out there that he has no memory of and betraying their trust is at the forefront of his mind. Eventually these two can no longer fight the connection and give in to what they both desire and want. As Logan slowly unravels Ashlyn’s body, she is trying to unravel the truth about who he really is and what she eventually discovers could mean the end of what has been the most wonderful experience of her life.

Notably a quicker read than I expected, but not so much a quick review on my part because this book frustrated the heck out of me. I wouldn't say this is an erotic novel, more like a typical NA novel that has some erotic tones, but it's not really even that steamy except in very few places, and mostly they're forced fed to you as the reader. If the heroine didn't mention herself as sexed starved in every other statement she ever made, it was too soon. (Wait for it...yep, too soon.) If the heroine didn't mention herself as sexed starved in every other statement she ever made, it was too soon. (Wait for it...yep, too soon.) The premise for this intrigued me, probably far more than I actually got out of the read. I was all for the thesis student studying a guy with amnesia who might've been someone implicated in a possible murder, but this book was so juvenile that I felt like banging my head against the wall several times. It wasn't written very well and the dialogue and meandering from the heroine's viewpoint really killed the read for me, for the most part. If Ashlyn wasn't oggling Logan's body (which really wasn't fair to him, given the guy's circumstances) or doing very stupid things in front of a possible murder suspect (and noting her stupidity for making stupid decisions), she was superfluously rambling and trusting this guy too easily without so much of a care in the world. I think part of the problem was that the relationship between Ashlyn and Logan wasn't really shown, just insinuated, and it felt like insta-lust for a long stretch in the narrative. I could see places where the author attempted to develop it (and I appreciated points where Logan and Ashlyn tried to work through ways to get his memory back). But ultimately, this read mostly made me annoyed through a threadbare tying of chemistry and dictated set of events. I think what kept me reading, and why I ended up rating this around 1.5 stars, was because of Logan's circumstances. I wanted to figure out who he was, I wanted to know if he was really a murderer. I wanted to watch him grow and develop past his amnesia, figure out the truth behind his past. Try as I might, I really couldn't care for Ashlyn, not even with her respective past and details about her life. Her voice was too annoying, unrealistic, and again - very juvenile for her age and experiences. It turned out that things worked out for the best in the end, but even then, it felt a bit too convenient (and I didn't find Logan's proposal to be that fulfilling). I realize this is the start to an ongoing series. I may pick up the next novel, but it's hard to build excitement for it because this dropped the ball so hard on having what was essentially a great premise. We'll see. Overall score: 1.5/5 stars

First off I really do love the cover. However the description made this book sound a lot better than what it was. The plot sounded intriguing, mysterious and thrilling. I mean you can't exactly have a hot and sexy book where loves blooming only to have the hot guy go to jail can you?

She is instantly intrigued, however the case comes with a catch. “There’s one hitch, though.” “What’s that?” “He’s under arrest for a murder he has no recollection of committing.” Wary but determined, Ashlyn heads off to the hospital to meet the mystery man who is suffering from dissociative amnesia following his possible participation in a violent crime. She is warned against engaging him by the medical staff treating him, but when she walks into her room she sees a gorgeous yet vulnerable man in a terrifying situation, and she is instantly drawn to him. He has the name ‘Logan’ tattooed on his arm, and rather than calling him ‘John Doe’, Ashlyn gives him the name and engages with him. She spends weeks working with him, with no recovery of his memories, but she discovers him to be sweet, gentle and well educated. And the closer they get, the deeper the mystery becomes as he starts to have terrifying nightmares, and begins to paint pictures of the same woman over and over. But even that can’t stop the raging sexual tension between them. Logan wasn’t just any guy. He was a mystery to unravel, a puzzle I desperately wanted to solve, with a heaping dose of sexual chemistry. And with each moment they spend together, the more they fall for each other, and it is really beautifully done. Kendall Ryan does a great job of capturing Logan’s fears of who he was, and what his past could mean for Ashlyn. But I loved how determined Ashlyn was to be there for him. Underneath her feelings for him is always a simmering fear or who he is and what he may have done, but it’s very much overshadowed by her fear of him remembering who he is and leaving her to return to his old life. But neither of them is able to resist the other, and as things progress between them – hot damn! These two are sizzling, and their encounters are hot, descriptive and passionate. It was simple chemistry. A primal attraction that couldn’t be controlled, or turned off simply because I willed it so. But when Logan’s past begins to be revealed, it brings all of Ashlyn’s fears to life, and they have to face their biggest challenge yet. This is a very short read, and because of that, the story moves quickly. A lot of time is spent with Ashlyn telling the story, rather than letting us see it, but with all that is going on, it helped keep the story moving. And Kendall does a really nice job with the scenes between Ashlyn and Logan. I would have liked to see more of those, but those that we got were really gorgeous. “You deserve more than what I can give you … I want to be ready for more but I’m not yet.” He was only half a man, how could I expect him to be ready for a relationship? “Okay,” I said sombrely.” “But when I am ready, I know I would be lucky to have you as mine.” I really enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to the follow up book featuring Ashlyn’s crazy best friend, Liz. 3.5 stars.

In the words of Ashlyn, I am now officially a "Drooling sex addict." Now any other time I would have a problem with my alpha having so many vulnerability moments since they are the definition of sturdy, however, Kendall did an amazing job with balancing his emotions and natural need to make Ashlyn his. He may of had amnesia but it did not effect the 'caveman' in him. I'm glad there was some hesitation between Ashlyn and Aiden towards the beginning. If Aiden would of just automatically let Ashlyn throw down his pants (I felt her pain..) then the story would not of been as believable. So that little bit of reluctance made the build up even better for a story that wasn't that long. Finding out that Aiden was a professor was just an added bonus to my *drool bucket*. We not only get a rugged hunk with tats but a well rounded art enthusiast man who knows his shit when it comes to history. Best of both worlds? Hell yes. Speaking of the best of things..Have I mentioned the sex yet? Or even the foreplay? Oh goodness! If every man woke from a nightmare to ravage a woman..I do not think us ladies would ever leave the bed. Again, the author displayed some very nice writing technique with her erotic scenes. Descriptive - yet left enough to the imagination. Only flaw was..I'm not too much of a fan when it comes to books skipping weeks or months ahead without any indication of the characters emotional growth during those missing days. Leaves me a bit in the dark. I thought for sure that psychotic chick 'Logan' (BLAH! I hate the sound of her name! Glad his real one was Aiden. Aplha Aiden. It just goes.) Was going to ruin it for them! I mean the possibilities are endless! He had no family so she could of said they were married or still dating happily or even that she was his sex slave! ...Okay maybe not the last one. Although..Would I is the real question here.. *Amy day-dream time* OverAll - Nicely done. It's a good story to relax with. :)

Unravel Me by Kendall Ryan is a beautifully written story filled with passion, romance, angst, love, and mystery. Adult romance fans will go crazy over this novel because it has the perfect combination of story and sex. The author did a fabulous job establishing and developing the characters in this novel. Both of the main characters had their own unique quirks and temperaments. Ashlyn is a reserved book worm. As a PhD student working on her amnesia thesis, she spends the majority of her time studying and reading. She has a weekly coffee date with her best girl friend, but she lives by herself and enjoys her alone time. She hasn't had a man in her bed in two years. She didn't have the most pleasant upbringing, and deep down she longs to be loved, protected, and cherished. "Logan" is the "John Doe" that Ashlyn observes for her amnesia thesis. He's a multifaceted character. He's strong, sexy, and he likes to be in control. He's an alpha male, but he also has a soft, gentle nature, especially when it comes to Ashlyn. Throughout the novel, both characters evolve with the story, and at the end of this story, both characters are better versions of themselves. This addicting romance novel will keep you on the edge of your seat. The passion and they mystery build throughout this entire story. It's a passionate love story that you don't want to miss. I gave Unravel Me by Kendall Ryan 4 STARS. I strongly recommend this novel to all of my friends who enjoy a hot and sexy romance novel! -XOXO READING, EATING AND DREAMING

Ashlyn falls hard for Logan, but what will happen once his memories come back? What kind of man is he really? Like I said before, this story was not perfect. There are typos and continuity issues, but I found they didn’t take away from my pleasure reading this. I wished the plot was a little more developed, but this writer definitely has potential. I’ll pick up the next story Kendall Ryan writes because I think she’s one to watch!

Dr. Andrews: "I understand you would like access to one of our patients." Her: "Yes, that's correct." Dr. Andrews:"My advice is to not make him your subject of your project. He's dangerous, unpredictable and best left to professionals." (Which girl, you're definitely not!) Her prideful ass gets so hurt by this she snaps back at the doctor, a person in charge of the patient and with a hold over who can see him and who can not. Her:"With all due respect, I'm this and that and I have interviewed prisoners before, blabla (she admits immediately it was only through mail), blabla I can handle myself. I WANT to see him." Is this how you speak to a doctor in charge, your host at the hospital, who you just met??😤 They converse for a time about his aggressive behavior and then she demands to see him. Seriously? No girl, you don't give orders. You will see him when the doctor offers you to see him. You're his guest, at his hospital, visiting his patient. They reach the patient's room and she has the nerve again: Her:"Pardon me, Doctor, but I'd like to go in alone." Err... excuse me?? Who do you think you are? You may politely ask if you could go alone, not again order around people who are well above you. You are a guest here, not the other way around.😤 (She goes inside, and is immediately transfixed by his uttermost beauty, he looked so gorgeous sleeping on the hospital bed. 🙄🙄) The disrespect just gets worse... The door opened behind me and I turned to give Dr. Andrews another earful about wanting to be left alone. WHO THE FUCK DOES SHE THINK SHE IS??? Giving an earful to a doctor in charge of the patient for entering the room??? It goes on. Instead, it was a nursing assistant dressed in scrubs carrying a tray with water. I rolled my eyes. The doctor had sent this guy in to check on me, I was sure. YEAH SURE HONEY, EVERYTHING IN THIS HOSPITAL IS ABOUT YOU. I'm sure otherwise nobody ever comes in this room to check on the patient!! God, I swear this conceited girl...😤 You think I raged before? Oh no, *this* is the part that made me rage. The assistant set the tray on the bedside table and turned to leave. I offered a nod, signaling to him that I was fine and he was free to go, though my heart pounded steadily against my chest and I felt anything but calm. I hadn't realized they had him handcuffed. "Wait." The assistant paused at the door and faced me. "Remove his cuffs." "Miss I can't do that," the assistant said. "Do you have the keys?" I asked. "Well, yes," he admitted. "Then yes, you can. Now unlock him." "He gave Terry a nice gnash on his face, and you're too pretty, you don't want him unlocked." I turned to the patient. "You're not going to hurt me, are you?" He shook his head. "See, he's fine. Now uncuff him." And the nurse proceeds to unlock the patient. ->Yeah uncuff this beautiful guy, I'm sure all the aggressiveness was made up and you handcuffed him for no reason (especially not something mundane like being under arrest for murder), no worries he's hot so he won't hurt me. If he looked like a bad guy I might be scared more. Also I'm in charge now take off his handcuffs now, forget the police orders. ->Oh yeah sure okay miss, whatever you wish, I often take orders like that from visitors, I'm but a simple nurse here, yes. That girl would've had her ass kicked out of a real hospital sooner than she can say "PhD".

Something a bit different. A cute, easy, sexy read. Ashlyn and Logan's story certainly isn't your average boy-meets-girl fairytale. I wanted quick, sexy and straightforward. Now, it wasn't quite straightforward, but it was an easy read and just what I needed. It took me just an afternoon and evening to get through and my heart remained intact. And, as for sex! Phew! This book reached pretty high up on the ol' book thermometer! Ashlyn and Logan/Aiden were hot!! I hated feeling like I was using him for my own pleasure, but I knew he wouldn't let me return the favour...if this was the only way I could provide comfort to him and chase away his nightmares, then so be it. Selfless, I know. Mother-friggin-Teresa, right here. Logan/Aiden was a great hero. You empathised with him from the very beginning. What an awful situation to be in, with no idea who you are, where you live and with nobody to love or claim you. So instantly, you've got a character that makes your heart ache. Not only that, he's super scrummy, ripped to within an inch of his life, has tattoos and is a potential mega-badass! Perfect ingredients for a lovable book boyfriend! His body was a freaking masterpiece that could easily turn any girl into a drooling sex addict. And Ashlyn; She's intelligent, caring, independent and very likeable. I loved watching her battling between her fascination and her growing love for Logan/Aiden, trying to make sense of her feelings and the ethics behind the situation they seemed drawn into together. He was a mystery to unravel, a puzzle I desperately wanted to solve. I'd have loved to read more about the getting-to-know-you period of their relationship, as they spoke with one another in the hospital, when they first met, as I felt the book skimmed a lot of that and thus took away some of the emotional connection between reader and characters. I wanted to be a part of that important process and feel them begin to fall for one another. Another small niggle that bothered me was the lack of dialogue. There was a lot of Ashlyn's inner monologue that seemed to just explain conversations that had happened, rather than allowing the reader to actually witness the dialogue for themselves. As a reader, I thoroughly enjoy reading books with great dialogue. I feel that that is when you really get to know a character, bond with them and see a relationship evolve, and I felt that Unravel Me lacked that a little. However, overall, the book was good. It was exactly what I needed at this moment in time. He has no recollection of his past, only that he woke up in the warehouse the day he was arrested. From all the warnings that Ashlyn gets about Logan being dangerous and should not be trusted, she knows deep down that she is safe with him. Ashlyn becomes more invested emotionally with Logan, more so than what is professionally appropriate. ”Screw right and wrong. I knew what I wanted, what I needed. Logan.” With the help of Ashlyn, pieces of Logan begin to unravel; the music he likes, hobbies he is interested in, and his intellect. They discover that they have a tattoo in common; it speaks to those who had struggled in life and wanted better, and were willing to fight for it. ”Aut viam inveniam aut faciam tibi” “I will either find a way or make one.” I felt Ashlyn’s struggle, trying to accept reality but at the same time keeping her hopes up of what could be. Logan is torn, between giving into his need for Ashlyn and his need for learning who he is. ”I’ve tried to hold myself back from you, to not get emotionally attached in case I woke up one day and I remembered I had a wife and three kids at home.” His nightmares made it hard for him because he doesn't want to be alone "I was nothing, a nameless, faceless nobody. With nothing to my name and nobody who even cares." When I picked up the book I didn’t expect it to be steamy, but the chemistry between Ashlyn and Logan certainly proved me wrong. ”His body was a freaking masterpiece that could easily turn any girl into a drooling sex addict.” I don’t want to spoil it; their story is something I think needs to be unraveled as you read. I really liked it and glad that it all worked out in the end.

Joint review with Gitte and Jenny from Totallybooked Gitte: Ashlyn is researching and writing her final thesis – on associative amnesia disorder. She doesn’t do relationships. Gitte: Ashlyn meets ‘Logan’ when her Professor initiates a consultation as it will help her reaserch. Logan is kind of like her test subject. When she meets him he is handcuffed to a bed under suspicion of murder with no memory of who he is or his past for that matter. Ashlyn’s intentions are to study him and perhaps help him as well. However she feels almost an immediate attraction and Logan seems to be drawn to her too. Ashlyn wants to help ‘Logan’ figure out his past and find out who he is and what his name is. The pair of them have an instant connection in more ways than one! She showed amazing courage placing her faith and trust in ‘Logan’, and he in her. Jenny: Ashlyn Drake has an orderly life. She is a Psychology and she has the opportunity to meet a perfect test subject for her amnesia thesis – a young man without any memory of his previous life, including the murder he’s accused of committing. Logan is very gorgeous and very male. Ashlyn hasn’t had a boyfriend in a long time and spends a lot of time alone studying. She is drawn to Logan in a way that is more than professional. There are a few things that draw her to Logan including his cryptic tattoos and they definitely have a chemistry between them. She really wants to learn about his past and help him get his retrieve his memory. “ I watched him sleep and saw him lying there, this living, breathing, attractive man, who so incredibly male.” For the Full Review see here: http://totallybookedblog.com/2012/09/...

I thought this was a great idea for a book and I enjoyed it from the first page! Ashlyn Drake is a Psychology student who is told about a man who is suffering from amnesia. He is also under suspicion for murder as he was found beside a badly beaten corpse. She decides to go and find out about him because she wants to use him as her "test" subject in her thesis. She gets a pleasant surprise when she finds a hot looking man handcuffed to the bed. Ashlynn and her "test subject" are immediately attracted to each other and they begin a friendship that is filled with sexual tension. When their friendship is taken to the next level, these two tear up the sheets and ignite a fire! Not only are they hot together; but a strong bond forms as the couple deal with "Logan" having nightmares each night and trying to find out who he is. Will they find out if "Logan" actually is a murderer? Ashlyn and Logan also have a fear that maybe his is married, or in a committed relationship? There are so many questions that need to be answered; but the journey to finding them out becomes a real hot and steamy one. This book held my attention through out the whole story and I loved how there was the mystery of who "Logan" is as well as hot sex to keep my eyes glued to the page. Ashlynn's friend Liz was a nice addition to the story as well! She had some great one liners and my favorite was: "Damn. You let him put that whole thing inside you?" She asked, eyeing his still hard cock. Kendall Ryan is an author to watch out for in my opinion, and I will be checking out all of her books as I love her style of writing! An all out enjoyable read, that I will love to re-read from time to time..

OMG....I just finished this book and all I can say is it was INCREDIBLE!!!! I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down, I read it in 1 day!!!! I was entranced from the very beginning. There was enough mystery and intrigue to keep me reading all the way to the end. Plus the sex scenes in this book had my panties melting. Kendall Ryan really knows how to write a steamy scene;) I have to say that I truly liked the connection between "Logan" and Ashlyn. I felt that their relationship grew over time and while he was discovering himself and who he was so was she. I thought the storyline of this book was great, I don't know if in real life I would be able to do what Ashlyn does, but it makes a great book:) This book had me feeling an array of emotions, and I love when a book does that. This book is definitely one for my favs shelf and I would say it is a MUST READ!!!!! I can't wait for the next book to be released in November, that is Liz's story. I felt Liz was a wonderful friend to Ashlyn and gave her support no matter what. I can't wait to read about her journey to find love.

Something was missing.... Just having finished this book, I'm still not sure what I want to write so I'll just ramble for a while. This book started out with an interesting premise - a hot guy with dissociative amnesia who was found at the scene of a murder. He couldn't remember anything and no one knew who he was or where he came from. He is being held in police custody at the hospital because he is the prime suspect for the murder, even though he has no memory of what happened or even what his Something was missing.... Just having finished this book, I'm still not sure what I want to write so I'll just ramble for a while. This book started out with an interesting premise - a hot guy with dissociative amnesia who was found at the scene of a murder. He couldn't remember anything and no one knew who he was or where he came from. He is being held in police custody at the hospital because he is the prime suspect for the murder, even though he has no memory of what happened or even what his name is. Ashlyn, a doctorate student, was studying amnesia and looking for a test subject to aid her research for her thesis. She gets the opportunity to study "John Doe", and well, you know the rest of the story. No seriously, that's pretty much the rest of the story. Or at least for most of the book. It's no surprise that chemistry emerges between Ashlyn and "Logan", a name she gives him because he has that name tattooed on his arm. They both know it's not his real name, because who tattoos their own name on their bicep right? However, it sounds better than John Doe so that's how he is referred to for most of the book. Ashlyn is immediately attracted to Logan and tries her best to stay professional, but it's hard because he's amazingly handsome and did I mention they both have matching tattoos? It's a Latin phrase that means, "I will either find a way or make one". Ashlyn comes back every day to "study" Logan and they develop a friendship. At least, that's what the book says. I was not privy to the development of this friendship because it was mentioned but the readers don't actually see it happen. I'll take the author's word for it though. Anyway, Logan is cleared for the murder because there really isn't enough evidence to keep him and most of the evidence seems to support that if he were guilty, it would have been self defense. He is released from the hospital and Ashlyn finds him in a park on the day he is released. Since he basically has no where to go, Ashlyn lets him stay with her because that's what friends do for friends who are amazingly gorgeous with a "heaping dose of sexual chemistry". The attraction is mutual and the line between friends and lovers is quickly blurred. Or it basically disappears, but we expected that to happen. The conflict in the relationship is that both Ashlyn and Logan are guarded because Logan doesn't want to lead Ashlyn on if he ends up being married with kids somewhere, and Ashlyn doesn't want to be hurt if Logan regains his memory and has to leave her. They are also both concerned about Logan's past and what will come to light. Was he a murderer? Caught up with shady characters? Drug dealer? You get the picture. They fall into a comfortable, domestic and steamy relationship. And that's what basically happens for most of the book. Literally. I started to get bored. The routine became: They wake up, Logan helps around the house, Logan finds a job, Ashlyn works on her thesis, they make love, Logan paints (he has memories of painting so he paints), they go bed, Logan has a nightmare, Ashlyn makes it all better. Repeat. Sprinkle in a few memories here and there which Logan expresses through his paintings. One of them being a woman who may have been a previous or current girlfriend. Other than that, nothing really happens. Around the 80% mark the story picks up. Pieces of the puzzle start to come together and shortly thereafter we learn that Logan's real name is Aiden. I won't go into details about the pieces of the puzzle because I don't want to give anything away. Although, I'm not really sure what there is to give away. The "reveal" was anti-climactic in that I wasn't blown away and I thought to myself, "I waited all that time for THIS"? I was not a big fan of the timeline. We don't really witness the initial friendship develop while Logan is at the hospital, we are just told that over the weeks they become closer and enjoyed each others company. When Logan moves in with Ashlyn, we get to see a routine develop, but most of the bonding is hinted at with the information that over the weeks it happened. I mean, I don't need to know what happens every minute of every day and for the most part their relationship was believable, but I felt like I wanted more of SOMETHING that would make me feel like I was in the relationship or caught up in it with them, know what I mean? Also, I just want to throw out there that Ashlyn's educational background made no sense to me. I mean come on, a bachelor's degree in sociology followed by a master's degree in psychology followed by an almost completed Ph.D program and she is how old? 24 you say? Yeah right. Would it really have been that difficult to make her, say, 27 or 28? I know I'm picking at lint here but for some reason that bothered me. There were hints of intrigue at parts of the story, and there were definitely elements that could have been better explored and would have enhanced the story. For example, the impact that Ashlyn's relationship with Logan could have had on her research and publication? It was hinted at a few times, but was never really explored. There were also mentions of Ashlyn's troubled childhood, but it almost seemed like a random detail because I don't see how it really impacted the story other than a possible fear of abandonment or rejection. Oh, and did I mention that I don't even know what Ashlyn looks like? There was one mention that she had long hair (color?) and another mention that she had blue eyes and of her height. Other than that (unless I missed something), I was left to my own devices to get a mental picture of her. I was feeling particularly unimaginative yesterday, so to be honest, I wouldn't recognize her if I passed her on the street. I would however recognize Aiden, right before I kidnapped him. More details could have been given about Aiden's childhood too, but it was glossed over when Aiden's past was revealed. In fact, more insight into both of the characters would have been nice. I would have also appreciated a few chapters told from Aiden's point of view. This would have made the story more interesting and could have helped with the angst level of the story, which was lacking for me. Another issue I had was the lack of conflict. This is probably why the story fell flat for me. Besides Logan leaving Ashlyn a few times to try to figure things out on his own, I didn't see much tension. There was a promise of conflict when memories of the mystery woman were unearthed through Logan's paintings, and I thought the tension would build more when the pieces of the puzzle started to come together, but the promise was unfulfilled. I kept waiting for something to happen, and I placated myself by thinking that the underwhelming build to the conflict meant that I would be rewarded later by a shocking revelation that would make it all worth it, but sadly, no dice. Overall, this story had real potential and it could have been a very intriguing book with the addition of more character development, a realistic timeline (or at least one that we had some insight into), and more conflict and angst. A high note was Aiden. While I didn't get to see into his mind, which would have been interesting to spy on while he was struggling to put everything together, I was able to appreciate his model good looks and cologne ad body - which I might add was extremely well endowed. He was caring and attentive with just a hint of alpha, which we mostly only see in the bedroom. There were very steamy scenes, sometimes a tad bit too drawn out, but descriptive and hot nonetheless. Another high note for me was Ashlyn's best friend Liz. Her outbursts were hilarious! "There's a man masturbating in your bathroom!" "Damn. You let him put that whole thing inside you?" Or how about her unapologetic response after she is caught watching Aiden and Ashlyn have sex without making her presence known? "I didn't want to interrupt your orgasm," she explained, pouring herself a glass of wine from the bottle on my counter. "It's what any good friend would do in this situation." Not my absolute favorite but not sorry I read it. I would also check out future books by this author to see how her writing progresses.
