Fantastic writing.woderful and interesting characters with lots of attitude. Fell in love a little bit with Sheffield, hope there is more in the series. A book I could not put down,at all! A really great style of writing too, a lot of historical bits that must have been researched. I come from a village which still celebrates may day, pole and everything. I really connected...just lovely x

By the end of the book I did not want them to end up together. They had nothing in common, I felt they had no connection. She only hurt and humiliated him.

We all know how tender a 10 year old child's feelings are and we also know when they love; they love with all their heart. This is a wonderful story in an era that mates were chosen to benefit the family and the family finances or businesses, which is the case for Robert who is much older than Georgiana. This is a wonderful story in an era that mates were chosen to benefit the family and the family finances or businesses, which is the case for Robert who is much older than Georgiana. Georgiana's feelings are hurt terribly when she see's Robert in the arms of another women, never telling anyone what she saw she is determined she will decide for herself who she will marry and it will not be Robert. She is certain that Robert will find someone else long before she becomes of age, and she moves on. Robert leaves the country to run a part of the family business Caribbean plantation and is gone for 7 years he returns as a very weary traveler that is still troubled by his past. He decides he only desires to attain peace of mind, hopefully through marriage and family. Robert knows Georgiana's feelings for him changed before he left but he has no idea why, but knows he must contact her before he can move on as she is his betrothed. When Robert finds that Georgiana in love with another man, he is surprised by feelings of jealousy and knows he has always loved her but he knows it will be difficult challenge to win her heart again but finds himself determined to do just that. This is a story balanced by humor, love and passion. It has its share of conflict and just enough mystery to wonder will they ever get together. You will fall in love with all the characters, the interaction is wonderful, and gives the full appearance of vivacity. My best description of this book is to say that it has "heart" and you will love it!

Fast forward: Robert's returned home from his father's Caribbean slave plantation a very different man to the one who left seven years previously. After seeing Georgie again Robert realises he still loves her but he remains confused by her cool behaviour and they are still betrothed. But Georgie can't forget and she's certainly not forgiving as she leads Robert (she dubbed him the Rat) on a merry chase and then she changes her mind so often...I want him, no I don't, I want him, no I don't, I want him, no I don't...that the reader is as dizzy as Robert. It's testament to his fortitude that he stuck it out for so long. It's not until she's reduced him to his knees, literally and he at last gives up on her does she finally let him off the hook. Robert wasn't the only one relieved. I would have liked to see him dish up some of her own medicine but I was more than ready for the end. With the exception of Georgie's frustrating character I enjoyed the authors writing and her descriptive turn of phrase.

Wow. This book left me speechless. Olivia Kingsley did such a great job at building suspense from beggining to end. This book kept me on my toes through out the whole book. I was rooting with everything I had for Gerogiana and Robert. This was the cutest story of love. This book had a unique plot and a lot of sexual tenstion. There was a lot of other tension also that almost made me cry several times. I just can't even begin to describe how well this book was written and what this book did to my Wow. Gerogiana was the essence of a strong woman. She didn't let any man push her around. She stood up for herself and tried to take matters into her own hands and Robert and her arguements were so funny and entertaining. You get absourbed into this book and it transports you into their world like your right there with them. It is simply amazing. If you love adult romance novels or any type of romance at all READ THIS BOOK! You will fall in love. I also won this book through Goodreads Firstreads givaways(:!!

Things I liked: The story of Robert’s time on the plantation is sad, but shows why he had changed from the happy, more carefree man that Georgie once knew. read the rest of the review at Love Romance Passion

I won this book through Goodreads.com Romance novels are not really my usual choice. However, I was totally enthralled by this book. It wasn't a cheesy romance novel. I loved the emotional turmoil both characters when through. I loved that the heroine was a stubborn, independent woman. The fact that she wanted things in life that were not the norm for the period made her interesting. This book is exactly the kind of book I want to read when I want romance. This extremely entertaining and credible story will suit anyone who enjoys the likes of Jane Eyre. Ms. Kingsley is historically accurate, her characters are vibrant and real and the banter is fun. Even though you might know exactly how this tale will end after only the first 20 pages, you will be riveted by the manner in which it will switch directions and hurdle complications to get there. Well done Ms. Kingsley. Oh please do it again!

Very pretty Recency genre. I love the way Olivia Kinsley writes. She strings the words together like it's a song. The only thing I didn't like was the flightyness of the girl, but it wasnt so extreme to be annoying. I don't know if this book is part of a series, but the characters are interesting enough to have their own stories. I hope I can afford them. Very pretty Recency genre. Loved it; my only issue was that I got frustrated with Georgie. Her stubbornness and blindness made me a little impatient with her. Otherwise, the romance was shiver-inducing, the writing was gorgeous, the story was beautiful, and the ending was perfect. Brilliant book.

Average. A bit irritated with the heroine who I thought was a bit too stubborn. Not too fond of story lines where the heroine can't decide what she wants & who holds a grudge against the hero for years. Average. Got this through a first-reads giveaway, and was surprised as it didn't read how I expected it to. The twists and turns made it a pretty interesting read and I liked how it ended.
