4.5 Wow, this was one steaming hot sci-fi that kept me turning the pages! While it's certainly not for the under aged, it boasts a great story as well as hot elements. And the characters were completely compelling. Loved it! 4.5 Wow, this was one steaming hot sci-fi that kept me turning the pages! Science fiction isn’t my favorite genre but Jessica’s story drew me in from the beginning due to her excellent characterization. The story features Frey, an alien masquerading as a human, and Carrie, a woman recovering from her recent divorce. Both face conflicts. Frey’s betrothed has chosen another partner on his home planet of Ginnun. He’s finished his last mission on Earth but balks at returning home since Ginnunians don’t express emotion and Frey is a rather sensitive guy (my favorite). Carrie is unable to have children and is devastated when her ex-husband’s new wife gets pregnant. Against her better judgment, Carrie signs up for a dating service. She’s extremely nervous for the first date and then feels so let down when the guy doesn’t show up. (Been there!) Her date Frey is late because he’s been abducted by his military superior, who demands he returns home to Ginnun. When they eventually meet up, there are some major barriers to their union. Both are insecure about their perceived defects, but both have much to offer the other. Without giving too much away, I’ll say I loved the way they met and I cracked up reading about the “nodules”. Very creative! Will Frey and Carrie get their acts together? Read and find out! I definitely look forward to future offerings from Jessica Subject. It looks like she’s working on another story from the series featuring Carrie’s friend Tamara, titled Beneath the Starry Sky.

Jessica Subject has a strong writing style and a good handle on writing engaging dialogue, balancing her active prose with narration and vivid descriptive phrases. She threads the right amount of back story without being intrusive so the reader has a good handle on the characters. I don't read the sci-fi genre, but Jessica has made a fan out of me. Whether you're a fan of sci-fi or not, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of Celestial Seduction for a sweet and sexy read. Readers who are looking for good writing, a distinctive plot and characters will enjoy Celestial Seduction and look forward to reading more from Jessica Subject.

I never read Sci-Fiction, but this book called to me due to my fondness of the 1NS series. And, my instincts were right! I loved the uniqueness of the story, and she did an excellent job of making me love the characters in so short a time. Such a sweet, fun, sexy summer read. Don’t be deceived, these aren’t your typical one night stands, they are arranged by the mysterious, and possibly magical Madame Evangeline whose goal is to find partner for her one night stands. This time she might be a little in over her head though as her subjects aren’t your average clients. Frey is an alien from the planet of Ginnun, where his fiancé has thrown him over for his former best friend. Not only does he not want to go home because of that, but he has another reason, he likes having and showing emotions, something frowned upon on his home world. Frey is determined to stay on Earth, and, much to his commanding officer’s disgust, to mate with an Earth woman. Searching for the perfect companion he goes to Madame Evangeline for a one night stand, but what will happen when his one night stand finds out he’s really an alien. Carrie has been through a difficult divorce and has suffered a terrible blow to her self-esteem, she seeks out Madame Evangeline hoping a one night stand will help jump start her recovery process and get her out into the dating world again, but Carrie wasn’t counting on how having s one night stand would make her feel. I really enjoyed Celestial Seduction. There was just enough backstory to make it interesting from then on the characters moved the story forward effortlessly. I liked the characters and I liked that in his natural form Frey was obviously alien, but also very much a male humanoid. His reactions were the same as any red-blooded human’s would have been and he was a genuinely likable character. You immediately felt a sense of connection with him and you couldn’t help but empathize with poor Carrie who has been through so much and then has the date that is supposed to help her jump-start her life show up hours late. The foundational tension was all put in place well and naturally and built incrementally throughout the story until the final pay off. I would recommend Celestial Seduction to fans of romance, science-fiction, and short stories. I liked it enough that I’m going to look into adding some other titles from the series to my library. If they write as well as Ms. Subject they should offer some interesting reads.

He is sick and tired of being in space, of being taught not to feel anything. He wants to leave and live amongst the humans. His commander thinks he is making a big mistake. But Frey goes with his gut and stays on Earth. He wants to find a mate, someone open-minded who won't might the fact that he is an alien. So through the 1NightStand dating service, he is matched with Carrie, a divorcee being forced to find someone because of her best friend, Tamara. Carrie has lost her confidence and Frey is scared he won't be accepted for who he really is. When they get together, they find out there is more between them then they thought. This was such a great short. I really liked Frey and Carrie. When Frey and Carrie have their first sex scene, I actually laughed a bit because Frey was just adorable. For a guy, human or not, he was clueless about some things, but he learned quickly. Boy did he. Carrie was so freaked out and nervous about everything, her reaction to when she first saw the real Frey was much better than I thought. I honestly thought she was fragile and that would have been too much for her, but she took it better than most in her state would have. I recommend this story to anyone looking for a read that is both sweet and sexy all at once. This may be part sci-fi, but the characters were believable. This may be apart of the 1NightStand series, but can be read as a stand alone in case you saw 20th book in the series and freaked. Like I said, this is short, but it was an easy and hot read. Absolutely worth checking out. I can't wait for more from my good friend Jessica Subject, make sure you all remember the name.

Celestial Seduction was a super quick read that I got through in about an hour. Jessica did a good job of giving decent back story that was pertinent without prolonging the story line. With a story this short I found it a bit hard to invest in the characters emotions so I read it completely on a superficial level. Having said that I did find it well wrote and easy to read. The writing was fluid and constant. I found no lagging parts, not that it was long enough for that. Having said that I did find it well wrote and easy to read. The writing was fluid and constant. I found no lagging parts, not that it was long enough for that. The story is the extremely quick relationship between Carrie and Frey. Having met through a dating service set up for one night stands. Do those exist? Is it weird that I’m pretty sure I would want nothing to do with that? I dunno. Even with a ton of research into each person, still seems kind of skeevy. Carrie is nervous, understandably, because her last sexy encounter involved her husband. Now divorced she just needs to blow off some steam, but isn’t sure she can go through with a one night stand. Frey is an alien. Yes. An alien. His “promised mate” did him wrong and so he has decided earth women are better. So in the midst of their one night he not only solves Carrie’s “I can’t get preggo” problems with his magic hands. But he also tells her he’s an alien. Now I like to think I have an open mind but this gives a whole other dimension to interracial dating. Carrie doesn’t seem to mind his admission and eagerly continues the date after his truthful speech. Huh? No questions? That was odd to me. Oh you’re an alien? Sweet, now do me with your noduled penis! I would have liked a least a bit a balking on Carrie’s part to make it a bit more believable. Other then that issue I found the novella fun. It’s definitely a fluffy read but it’s good. The sex is well wrote and I found it engaging. The ending is neatly given to the reader with a bow on top. Completely predictable but with a novella it generally is. If you’re looking for something to make your lunch hour in the break room a bit more fun..this is the read for you. Sci Fi, quirky, fun and sexy, Celestial Seduction is a novella you need to read. I give Celestial Seduction by Jessica E Subject 3.50 stars!

After making the decision to leave and make a home on earth after he is betrayed by his fiancé who has slept with his best friend and roommate. He signs up with a dating service hoping to find the perfect mate to spend the rest of his life with. After a divorce Carrie is left with no confidence and no faith in men. Her best friend Tamara talks her into Madame Evangeline’s one night stand dating service to get her confidence back. The match between Carrie and Frey ends up being magical. He rocks her world. In such a short story Ms. Subject brings the characters to life so much so that you find yourself feeling for them as if they were friends. Rooting for them to make things work. Ms. Subject shows both strong emotions and the vulnerabilities in both Frey and Carrie. The story is believable and well written. The sex scenes are sexy and sweet. Anyone who enjoys romance and/or aliens will enjoy this story. Favorite Quote: Carrie to Tamara when asked about her one night stand….”It was cosmic…out of this world.”

I loved this book. It was short, only about 35 pages, but it caught my attention and kept me intrigued. Fans of Sci Fi Romance will love it too. Frey was so cute and somewhat insecure about himself and Carrie had low self esteem issues. She was not as simple as I thought and Frey was determined to win her over. This book was both touching and humorous. I highly recommend this book.

Carrie was deeply hurt when her high school sweetheart asked for a divorce when medical issues prevented her from conceiving. Three years after the divorce, Carrie’s best friend convinces her that she needs a little fun in her life, and whether it is just for only one night. The night is off to a rocky beginning, but there is chemistry between Carrie and Frey. Frey is worried about being accepted for himself and loved while Carrie has such a low confidence that she thinks Frey wouldn’t want to see her past tonight and she already knows she wants more. Even with the rocky start, they find out a lot about each other, both share their past and secret and all of it culminates into a great night of passion. Carrie leaves without saying goodbye and Frey must find a way to convince her they belong together and he is in it for the long haul. The author does a wonderful job conveying both of their emotions, desires and insecurities. Frey and Carrie had a great connection and their vulnerabilities just endeared them to me even more. It is a lovely short novella (perfect for your lunch-break) so key details are difficult to avoid! There where many elements in this story which, when put together, should make a lovely story. But they did not gel for me. I found the premise of a "one night only guarantee" to force an element of conflict. The description of the hero's manly area just didn't it for me. This was a no muss no fuss read. I liked Frey immensely, and I mostly liked Carrie. Her crying and running away were a bit annoying. The only real out of place aspect was her utter acceptance of Frey's secret. Now don't get me wrong, the belief was okay, but not asking a single question before jumping in the sack?? You should probably confirm physical compatibility at the very least. While sweet, the ending was almost laughable in its predictability. 3.5 stars This was a no muss no fuss read.
